Just had a test on both a7 and a7r at Bedok Mall, deeply poisoned, don't know whether to sell off my Canon and change to a7 or not...

I know the feeling, bro. Once the poison struck me, it took me less than 9 hours to list my 6D in B&S, dump it off, and retrieve the antidote (A7). Good as the 6D was, I've never looked back.

Ok... tat was really deep... Haha... But the fun with all your legacy lenses on the A7 must be fulfilling..

Seems a design fault then... Is it affecting your shooting or it's just an issue at the back of your mind?

I am not sure if that affects the shooting, likely to be an issue in my head, (very similar to the wind/rattling noise in a new car!) - I have 3 m4/3 bodies at home (GX1, GF1 and OMD) and at least 4-5 lenses. None of them has this 'freeplay' issue at the lens/body interface.

Since i am intending to run the m/43 system in parallel and the A7 for Leica lenses - i am kinda regretting not getting the A7 body only.

Pure joy! It's the first time I've had a chance to use my 24mm Elmarit-R on FF, as the 6D's mirror wouldn't clear the rear assembly. The '70's-'80's R glass in particular was like alchemy with the NEX-7's sensor, and it's the same with the A7's sensor.

Interesting test: http://www.leica-boss.com/2013/12/t...-zeiss-fe-sonnar-t-fe-35mm-f2-8-za-sel35f28z/

Yes, seems certain brands and models of legacy lenses works very well on the A7. I have tried bro overworked's collection of Pentax and Minolta legacy lenses and they are phenomenal. Just got myself a copy of Pentax K SMC 135/2.5 on eBay and waiting for its delivery end of the month to play wif it. Heavy lens though around 500g.

Still toying on the idea of purchasing the Minolta Rokkor 58/1.2... Keke...

Tested the 35mm FE f2.8, yes sharp but not to my liking and will test one more day and if still not happy, will put on BnS.

What's your issue with it?

Len is very quite focusing and smooth focusing ring but it seemed I not very used to this light, plastic Len. Definitely sharp as per what many have discussed.

Color is natural on standard setting but my lux 50 has better color (film like) on standard setting and believe the Len got no stability (IS) setting which I don't quite like.

Maybe a bug for manual focusing man.

Sharpness quite on par with the Rx1r but not RX1 IMO.

Len really too light like toy leh.

You believe it has no IS? I'm pretty sure it hasn't. ;)

Hi Guys - Just bought the A7 kit over the weekend. :)

However, i did find that the fit of the kit lens to the body not as ideal as my previous cameras - it has a little bit of freeplay. i.e. lens can be rotated slightly when mounted properly. Is this something that you guys experienced?

Thanks for the feedback!

That's normal lar. I think there is a slight rotation free play. That's because there is a little bit of play in the pin locking the lens. In any case, rotational free play is quite inconsequential because the lens is circular. It will not affect the quality. Its not a design flaw or anything like that. Go out and shoot and enjoy the camera lar!

But what about the weather sealing?

You can sell off your kit lens easily. If you are selling, better do it before retail version is out. This kit lens only comes with the set, so you may find some buyers keen to buy below $400. Dont think anyone will pay more for it, as can easily find A7 buyers keen to just get the body and do a joint purchase.
