Thank you for the helpful insights, Seii7. It was informative to say the least.
You must be using the Samyang or one of its many re-branded (Bower, Pro-Optic, Rokinon, Vivitar, Walimex etc. etc.) 800mm mirror lens. They are all optically similar to the 1250mm Celestron C5 spotting scope based on the Schmidt-Cassegrain reflector design principle, whereas the 1250mm Celestron C90 MAK spotting scope is based on the Maksutov-Cassegrain reflector design principle but are all essentially Cassegrain "mirror lens" so as to speak. The eyepiece can be remove and a camera connected directly behind (also known as the prime focus imaging) with the assistance of a T-mount adapter and a T-mount ring just like the Samyang 800mm mirror lens.
800mm on a APS-C crop sensor will resulting in a 35mm equivalent focal length of approximately 1280mm, I imagine it will be an effort to handhold without image blurring due to magnified vibrations from camera shake regardless of its size and weight.

never got to use til it grew some fungus, few weeks back after returning overseas took some time to diy clean.
share some shots taken after that, pardon the dust, didn't do a good cleaning job.
Anyway its not easy to use, these are the few that can share cos the rest are mostly OOF
Have you tried it in the Terminal 1 viewing gallery where it will be much easier to focus or pre-focus, does it have enough reach for subjects at SIAEC hangers and those touching down on RWY 20L? Can always add an additional Samyang 2x teleconverter for a 35mm equivalent focal length of approximately 3200mm on a APS-C crop sensor. :bsmilie:
Yes it's samyang mirror 800mm t-mounted and Its back to photography basics like back to olden days using it manually.
Set enough shutter speed and adequate iso, so I just work on keeping one hand steady and another hand focusing.
Since the jets are coming on fix glideslope, it's easier to practice. Can't say the same for air shows though.
Hmmm T1 viewing is probably my last place for spotting, annoyed by the over-enthusiastic spotters with little awareness of surroundings.
Will give it a try when I take a break from work someday.
2x teleconverter....... will also try if I'm able to source one.

Any chance that we'll see one of those on flight crew orientation and training flights plying the high volume, short-haul BKK / VTBS - SIN / WSSS sector and vice versa which are slotted in during periods of layover between long haul sectors just like their Airbus A340-642 counterparts?Simple Plane shoot @ VHHH while waiting for bus to move...

Good question. We should first ask ourselves what defines street photography?
Anyway, last time the TS / OP still new. So eeny, meeny, miny, moe and just created the series of threads here not knowing which is the most appropriate gallery sub-forum since the specific genre is rather specialised and somewhat in a grey area generally speaking. Do forgive his ignorance.

FYI : BA had been intending to take delivery of the first of its 24 Rolls-Royce Trent 1000-powered 787s in May but the grounding of the type in January has left the schedule unclear.:bsmilie:

The Qantas 787 grounding earlier this year was big news here. The first flight to Oz was cancelled because of it. But then what do I know, not really a airplane photographer ...more a street photographer. I have got heaps more pics of passengers though, maybe some even flew on a Qantas concorde.

I can understand your intention(s) for shall I say, deliberate attempts at provoking an elicit response and trolling? But not to worry though, we'll not blame you for it in anyway nor take it to heart personally as we are all really friendly and mature here.
As you have just read from erkuan's (an avid military aviation photographer just like some of us, whose deep interest in the specific category obviously doesn't fall under the genre of "travel") prior posting that British Airways (BAW) has yet to operate the Boeing 787, it's really simply just what we do in here - sharing and learning. street photography we have subsets as well, You well know this. We don't have military as a subset, let alone aircraft spotting.
Further to this your mistake has lost me an opportunity to post an interview with a well known street photographer. He saw the forum as you did when you made the mistake of posting this thread here, as
