Official Plane Spotting Thread III

I think oneANT is right. I've been wanting to voice out the ridiculousness of putting an "official plane spotting" thread in the streets and candid section. Its like starting a food photography thread in the landscape section, it makes no sense whatsoever. If the mods can move threads to other sections of the forum just because its inappropriate then why should this thread be an exception?
Perhaps the mods can create another section where people can post their plane/train/car/boat spotting, auto show, SAF open house pics?

I wrote a email to the site owners via webmaster@clubsnap.com but no reply. I also wrote to 9V-Orion Images in private mail but I think that his making it public here is because he thinks that he can make trouble for me instead.

This is the email ...

I'm a street photographer that wants to build up the membership in the Street and Candid forum. I can be seen here...

oneANT street photographer

There is a lot of confusion about what is and what isnt street and having a thread (and archive) of airplanes in the forum is beyond belief and moreso when you already have a forum for travel. Its disrespectful to street photographers and a confusion for anyone starting out.
I want to increase the membership in that forum and support a definition of street photography away from a western (american) definition and want to increase its exposure and participation here.

Can you move the airplane thread 'Official Plane Spotting Thread III' Its not street, its not candid and its so removed from the topic that it appears to be just parked there for no reason. Its a topic of travel and it should be there.
Explaining to beginners what is and isnt street is going to be foolish with that thread and its archives sitting there.

http://www.clubsnap.com/forums/street-candids/1182237-official-plane-spotting-thread-iii.html

How did it even get to be put there?

Its not a small effort to put energy into a forum, it needs constant work and commitment and I hope you might support myself and the other memmbers of the street and candid in this.

Respectfully

oneant.

It was a mistake that it was put here and for that I'm being blamed for pointing it out. I will be sorely disappointed if someone thinks me worth banning for someone else's mistake. I also attempted this privately in the PMs because I was concerned about interrupting the flow of this thread. I hate doing this here, but the same cannot be said of the OP and this thread in the STREET and CANDID forum.

Its just disappointing and I feel that you would rather have me banned then fix this mistake.
I absolute love street photography and other street photographers and want to see the Eastern side of the world push the West back a bit. I even edited the street wiki to include places that someone in NYC would think wasn't street. Its so western in definition and I think you are foolish to suggest I dont know what street photography is, to redefine it to suit your own means is a corruption.

I'm just disappointed in you and even funnier, I fly, I pilot a glider.

Ant.

Oh, and every time I want to go to the next post using the next tool at the bottom of this page, I'm blocked by this thread and have to wait for it to load and then next again to the next available STREET and CANDID thread that has the content of a street photographer in it.

But seriously, that eeny, meeny, miny, moe rubbish is utter insult.

Ant.

Dear oneANT,
First u had my full agreement for the misappropriate location and regarded you as a professional.
As you went in, you show ethics lacking.
I felt distasteful because you wanted to capitalise from this portal.
Is that the kind of professionalism you show (close and open threads).

Why are you placing your occupation upfront in a hobby portal.

Technical issue is why it's not moved.
There is a huge photo gallery in this sub if you search back to its roots.
Meanwhile to move/migrate data across database will require planning , maybe test and data verification to ensure data integrity.
It will involve cost.
You gonna capitalise from street and candid but where is the contribution.
Professionally by echo what people has said and alter wiki
Otherwise it does not matter to me if you lose more interviews.

I don't need your support, the truth is all I need. I cannot do anything wrong unless I am untruthful

Why are you placing your occupation upfront in a hobby portal.

Why is this hobby portal in a Street photography forum (to use your language)
I'm a paid street photographer by the way. I admit there are few of us but the fact remains, I'm paid ...which makes you the hobbyist

you mean back to its roots when OP went eeny, meeny, miny, moe

see you don't care. I already have them. They are not for me. I have them to share but you write to me in such an ugly tone. What you said here is also untrue, you make it sound like a building has to be moved and we need to hire a crane, are you an IT person, I am ...its how I afford to fly.

Even you chose to write to me here publicly and to insult me personally here. You need to not write to me again. Your motive are wrong and your tone with me is ugly.

everyone can read what you said....

You dont like me doing this and yet you do it with this thread in this forum and somehow that is OK. Its OK to attack me for someone elses error. I already told you I tried this in the PMs but orion replied to me here and wouldn't write to me. He made the mistake in the first place and keeps making them and you want to blame me for that.

Its horrible interrupting this thread, I absolutely agree so then how is it that its OK for you to do it to ALL of US.

Ethics lacking

you need to apologise before you talk to me again.

Dear oneANT,
First u had my full agreement for the misappropriate location and regarded you as a professional.

Where did you give this support ...post it here so that everyone can see how you use the truth. And to think that you question my ethics and then say this. ....LOL

We have a name for people like you and my father would smack me for it if he caught me doing it.

19 likes since 2010 is what your profile tell us and I could find 162 things to like in just in two days. There is much to like here but you seem to be looking after yourself.

You need to not reply to me again until you apologize.

Fleeting moments of everyday life captured ...

this is my moment of everyday life captured, love doin it.

Regarding what you suggest that " You should simply close this thread and move it to travel
...you are afterall a subset of travel, even the military have to travel." We can't do it, cause
Land/City-scapes and Travel is meant for photos taken around the world.
The world around us, and the beautiful surroundings we live in.

If I was too hasty like OP to suggest travel when its reportage, now it can be either so now there is two to choose from. And not for me to choose.
Its a technical topic and military and aircraft enthusiasts are used to reading the tech info. Its matter of fact and if travel is too 'fluffy' then reportage is bang on target. If the objection is travel then that is not for me to decide. I'm not the airplane spotter, you guys are the experts. But it is absolutely not street and that is where your lack of expertise has failed you.

I mean no disrespect but honestly why is a street photographer advising you on where this forum should be ...don't you guys know?
OP put you in here, its not even for me to fix ...you need to be responsible for your photos and your mistakes.

You have two forums to choose from now, if reportage is better suited than travel then thats it. They cannot object, it is reportage/documentary afterall and is its own thread because its a specialized interest.
Honestly, dont you guys know?

On the matter of travel (yes I saw that)
Travel can even be regarded as street but it has to be with intent which is why travel isnt a sub-set. If you get a pic while on holiday that represents street then you post it to street and even cross post it to travel if you wish, travel isnt a subset. If it accidental or deliberate then thats the tolerance within street ...and we accept it AS STREET.
Airplane spotting ...no thats not street and not anywhere within the tolerance.
Do you want me to keep replying, keep redefining street photography in the street and Candid forum and I will, I'm qualified just as you are the plane spotter and I am not.

Get a mod to move it, thats all. Ask them nicely and be happy and thats it.
Thats all this is but some of you are trying to make it into something else.

I often take pics when I'm flying but I'm not going to post them here in street and candid. I'll have kids confused about what is street and to be honest you can see that definitions based on self-interest is the problem. You should then be able to guess that I do know how its defined. But thats OT here, you are not even a topic of street photography so stop suggesting that somehow airplane spotting is.

How on earth am I going to post my aircraft pics to this thread if its in a forum I use for street photography. This was my first and most obvious problem. I coach street photographers, I do it because I love street. How then do I explain to them that I post my flying pics to the STREET and CANDID forum?

You guys need to get it moved ...its not my problem.
Take charge of yourselves and just move it.

Dear oneANT:

All that I had managed to gather from some of your lengthy responses are assumptions, assumptions, assumptions, false accusations, false accusations, false accusations and followed by more assumptions, assumptions, assumptions along with twisting what I had earlier said, it really shows how much credibility and integrity you actually have.

I could have taken the effort and time in pointing out each and every single one of them in defence or otherwise reported them directly to the moderators but I really couldn't be bothered less nor do I desire to involve the moderators for such a trivial matter and all I had ever requested from the moderators (nothing less, nothing more) is for assistance in responding to the thread which you had happily, happily locked for either no apparent reason or that you felt you are not getting the responses and support that you so desperately seek for and wanted.

Also, I have some difficulty comprehending what you had written in some of the statements. Must be the thick Ozzy accent that I visualise when reading it, mate.

Cheers wnd have a good crikey day to you, mate.

Just to further clarify, JGHan. Do go and check it out who was the very last person that had the previous second season installment in this series of threads closed as it exceeded a thousand postings, trimmed it down and placed the current season installment right here as it definitely wasn't me.

IMHO, I personally wouldn't have any issues nor objections for this series of threads to be moved to a more appropriate gallery sub-forum, I doubt it will affect us fellow aviation enthusiasts in anyway whatsoever. We have no deliberate intention or wish to create trouble for anyone.

What I do have problems are, is with a member that have only 13 postings and no significant contributions to ClubSNAP prior to 18th of April 2013, 1049 hours coming at us in an aggressive, hostile, superior underlying tone stepping over our heads with no due respect, demanding that we do this and that and take immediate action as if any of us has the authority to do so without grasping and understanding the overall complete situation suddenly after 4 entire years of having the chance and opportunity to voice his displeasure and concerns, creating a big fuss and ruckus filled with unwarranted assumptions, not to mention throwing false accusations in the process.

Thank you.

Now you question my membership.
My absence was marked with my own illness from a serious accident and then the discovery of a growing and inoperable tumor at the top of my sons brain stem. My own injuries are significant but Jake's are all that we think on and we are fearful every day that we will lose him.
On a day soon when no choice is available to us, he will lose either hand/eye coordination or his sight from the surgery and with no guarantee that he will not lose his life.
Its at 23mm now and it wont stop.
Would you like me on expand on this, or is this enough, or do you think that my time would have been spent better here.

My total days of photography over this time is 67 days, thats it, that all I have been able to do. My photography is 67 days old. Would you like to comment on that as well.

I'm astonished at every twist and turn and now you question how I have spent my time away from CS.

My post count and the 162 likes is since the 18th and my post count is 39. I've out-posted every member in your thread ...30 fold.

Every time you avoid the simple fact that the thread is in the wrong place, you seek to attack me and demean street photography and always you are attempting to make me the fault of your mistake. That its been there 4 years somehow is supposed to make it right yet the world was flat for a 100 years.

Move the thread, thats all you were asked to do. You were asked because its in the wrong forum and has already lost us an opportunity.

You risk no injury by moving it, no loss of any kind. You are not even inconvenienced. Nothing.
But you also have no care that its already has to the members of this forum.

You are a thread in the wrong forum, you were asked to relocate it and now your attentions are to me and not this matter at all.

Ant.

Why the sudden spontaneous response from hiatus?
Is that how relations are built?
Where is the ethics coming from this again?

Conduct is very well documented for others to reference.
Is there a need for any of us to remind that you are not just representing yourself and also a domain bearing the same name.

You really have lots to say about yourself.

As much as we sympathize from the unfortunate situation, I believe professionalism must uphold.

Ai yah, just ignore him lah. Can't believe someone is cheap and low enough to bring his family into this and attempting to play the sympathy card.

First he said he is a "professional street photographer", secondly he said he's "an IT person, its how he afford to fly" and now he said he only have "67 days of photography". Can't even get his fantasy stories right.

I fly weekends (gliders) every other month. I'm trained as an Engineer and have worked in IT since CPM and now I'm employed by a film company to take pre-production 'street' shots.

You will not address this issue and now you attack me personally, what vile abhorrent behaviour from two that lack any integrity whatsoever.

Not strictly plane spotting, but I was one of a group invited by the Royal Australian Air Force to fly on one of their KC-30 MRTT tankers as it refueled a pair of F/A-18 Hornets southeast of Melbourne. Here's a blog post about the flight which includes high-res photos and a video highlights package.

Thank you for dropping by and sharing, kusircidomo. Your contributions are greatly appreciated.

My DSLR with a maximum ISO of 6400 / 12800 can never ever manage to capture shots like yours did, handheld in low light conditions. Often I wouldn't stay beyond 1900 hours. :bsmilie:
