OFFICIAL: Canon EOS 700D User Thread

Newbie me have been reading here and dpreview, seems 650D the much preferred choice over 700D. I'm also considering the 100D, but like too small for my fat hands ha!

Where do you guys get your $800+ kit lens for 650D?

The difference between EOS 650D and 700D kit I is around $100. However, do note that the kit lens included in EOS 700D is EF-S 18-55mm STM version which is better in IQ and thus higher value.

The launched of the EOS 700D at cheaper price simply kills the market for EOS 650D.

Is the AF speed of the EF-S 18-55 STM version as fast as the 18-135 IS STM? Today I tried the 700D with the 18-135 STM and it was very fast(someone even said it was close to the speed of an L lens) . Unfortunately I didn't see the 18-55 STM though.

I tried the 100D with the new 18-55 STM lens. Very fast and accurate focussing.

You can go to Canon showroom to try out the 18-55 STM.

Putting the speed asides, it is better value to get the 700d kit I than the 650d kit I for a price difference of $100. The choice is yours. I will consider the 650d only if the price difference is more than $200, else why not get the better IQ lens and the latest camera for only $100 more.

Hi there, new here.
Had very much like to own a DSLR, finally went for 700D Kit II. Its not from PC show, but gotten a very good deal and goodies so overall cost is worth.
I'm still very much a G9 lover, it just do what I want and whenever I wanted it for a few years now.
Wish me luck on the new toy and kit.

Thanks. Tried out the 18 - 135 STM lens, its fast enough for me. Got hold of a 50mm f1.4, tried around and love it.
Still working on shooting skills though, still new to DSLR :D

Just gotten my 700d earlier today!! Can't wait to shoot.. Wish me luck guys!

Anyone using the 700D with third party flash? Namely the Yongnuo YN568EX with full Wired and wireless TTL?

Hi guys.

Just bought a 700D camera last week. pretty loving it as i'm still quite new to the photography thingy.

Was deciding the 650D or 700D kit 2 , the price was just merely 100 bucks differ. In the end, bought the 700D instead.

Any recommendation to the Macro lens or the zoom lens ?

I pair it with my 650D and it works like a charm :)

Good value for money macro wld be the tamron 90 f2.8 I believe you can get it at a good price in bns. As for zoom lens, it really have to depend on your requirement.

If there isn't any need to buy anything, then save up first.

Macro and Zoom (I assume you mean telezoom) does different thing... 'Macro' lens allows you to focus nearer to the subject. e.g. 30cm while typical tele zoom lens allows you to only focus at least 90cm from it.
