OFFICIAL: Canon EOS 700D User Thread

Price of brand new EOS 650D has dropped below $800. No wonder so many 650D owners are angry over Canon for launching of the 700D with insignificant upgrades, and priced cheaper than 650D. This caused the 650D's price to drop. EOS 650D is not even 1 year old.

Is silly for 650D user to feel sad as 700D do not affect the function of the 650D at all. Unless the 650D user is buying the camera to sell in future. If that is the case why buy the camera in the first place?

For newbies, the 700D first introduced exactly 1 year 1 month ago in June 2013, is a good entry model DSLR for the family, including basic coverage photo shoots. Cheers.

3 years down the road, I'm finding it a burden to bring it around everywhere I go. Lens and body both gets heavier with every upgrade but my skills remains as 3 years back.

I agree. :)

So this year no new 3 digit series DSLR from Canon..?

Hi everyone, I'm new in photography. Just laid my hands on an EOS700D / Rebel T5i...

Did anyone experience situation where the liveview preview display is sharper then the captured image playback at 10x mag?

compare the LCD display at 10x mag, tripod, timer release (to rule out camera shake) etc.. then press shutter and playback image at 10x. The liveview display is sharper.

Some say liveview display has sharpening applied at 10x mag, and the actual captured image is not so sharp. But no affirmative answer from Canon yet.

Since the mirror is up all the while when taking picture in liveview mode, it is unlikely to be vibration due to mirror either.. so.. what gives?

Anyone keen to try it out?

Anyone tried with Sigma lens? Hows the focus accuracy?
