For 3rd party batts, I use Chromage brand, got them from Red Dot Photo at funan.. Latest ones decoded for the 6D.. so far so good.. No issues...

Indeed! Make sure the chromage batts are the latest batch of goods. If not you may face issues of batt life not displayed properly on 6D etc. I think red dot sells it at $35 but I'm quite sure you can get it at $30/pc from j316. (:

Got mine last night with 24-105mm.... totally awed by full frame....... af not too bad. Better than 400D...... so I can survive with it.

Air diet on the menu next........

Hi, just bought my 6d with 24-105.. went for some test shot.. but found out my image is not sharp compare to my previous camera. Anyone living near potong pasir can pm me? Need to test shot to verify.. thank you.

If I use a focusing screen... say, EG-D... and switch the custom function... what does it do????

A different focusing screen will affect the camera's metering. By switching the custom function, the camera will adjust the metering accordingly. That's my understanding anyway.

Thanks bro..... I could not find it in the instruction manual and was wondering what it does, as I have tried and see no differences.... other than the grid through the VF..... I prefer the 7D one... but still is ok with it..... FF is a lot of difference.......

after using for a week.. i am quite impressed by it. the high-ISO makes the auto-ISO function a no-brainer and the silent shutter really works...

something i took today using the EF 85mm/f1.8 lens. :)

I like the auto ISO function. I always set min SS at 1/60 for my 16-35 and 50mm.
But sadly, the auto shutter speed doesnt give me 1/Focal Length speed; whether i zoom in or out, it gives me the same shutter speed.

My fren bought a 6D body in Japan for $2068. With battery grip = $2280. No significant savings on the battery grip though.
Can't wait for my fren to return in 2 weeks and play with it.
