Actually hor, I am not sure if canon can resolve the issue or not because I haven't mastered the art of shooting with body or lens cap on yet. :P

Maybe when I have mastered that complex art I will ask if canon has a fix for it.

Thanks also ! For reminding me why i don't come to this forum anymore.

For 1 person with a value added info, you have 10 who add nothing to the question but their desire to be the smartest ass of the pack.

Don't worry about my shooting. I have already learned to use something else than the green square and i don't need to show off my list of equipment at the bottom of each post ...

I'll remember to come here next time i don't need anything...

I believe they could resolve it, the main thing now is how are they going to handle this issue asap. Hope canon singapore could provide us with the service we are looking for. I am not surprise if they give us a customize cpl filter to fit into the top lcd LOL.

Nope, haven't search extensively, thanks for your info, was looking for one actually

Wow, considering that said thread is less than ten threads down from this one, quite extensive indeed.

This video shows that the light leak issue is applicable even in practical terms... outdoor sunlight with lens attached to camera...

lens on with lens cap on, no difference from trying to shoot with the body cap on actually. Looking at the top LCD, shutter speed of 4-5 secs at F1.2 in bright sunlight? not very possible. Should try that again with the lens cap off if the video is meant to show real world shooting effects of light passing thru the top LCD.

Well said, I have used the camera in studios where it is exposed to sudden burst of strong light and don't see how this can affect the picture quality at all. Only problem that I can find with the camera right now is that the RAW files are not compatible with my Lightroom 3 but is compatible with Photoshop CS5, anyone else with this problem?

So far been using Manual mode , no issue so far. Been happy snapping with it ~ :) I dont mind if canon will wants to replace a whole new one for me later too keke.

Wow, on which planet is that? Never knew you could meter 10s f/1.2 iso 400 in bright day light? That is practical?

With the release of Lightroom 4, Adobe is not updating LR 3 anymore. I will add also that it's only LR 4.1 Release Candidate that will open 5DIII RAW files.

That is not Canon's fault. That's Adobe's fault. Also, you can use Adobe Camera RAW to export the RAWs to DNG then use LR3 to edit.

the test is also done with lens cap on? any without lens cap ?

wth? ISO400 f/1.2 and AI gives 10s exposure in board day light? :o

I think is not very conculsive base on the video. his hand is shaking and i believe any movement might affect the reading. These is an issue but to a certain extend. i still find it weird as lcd itself is standalone from other parts of the camera.

If it is only fixable by "hardware" fix..would you still consider bringing down to CSC for them to "open" up the camera just to "fix" this issue?
I mean..after all the "horror" stories about how CSC handles the camera without caps…and i highly doubt they will "fix" in a clean room…opening up the camera will definately introduce unwanted "dust" intot he camera…who knows..they fix one problem, give you tons more?
I'm still undecided but given the problem isn't really a problem to me..i don't think i want to risk having CSC open up my camera unless absolutely necessary..am i alone?

I think i will send mine in to csc when they have come up with a fix. But also depends on how canon is going to resolve this issue. Put epoxy to cover up? Hope not....:(
Is it normal for light to leak into the camera from the lcd? Never tested in other cameras before but last night when i shine a torch on the lcd..the exposure value really change even without the cap?!! Sian half...
