Sometimes 3rd party TC can give af at f/8, even though canon say cannot and canon TC also cannot. Happens for other canon body too.

Kenko will depend…like i mentioned..i used the same Kenko 1.4TC with the same Tamron lens a 300mm f5.6 (which makes it f8 or is it 6.3?)…on my 60D..it wont even focus at all..only manual…however when i tested on the 5D3..i was expecting the same thing but i was surprised that it AF without problems…of course not as fast but it will still focus pretty decently with enough light..it's not something i will use but at least it works...

Halfmoon bro, this coming Sat and Sun, there's a mini cosplay event at Liang Court, starts at 1pm. Should be a good starting point for cosplay photography.

Maybe you can go to have a feel, then you will know if you are interested in this. If interested, aim for the Cosfest (a sister event to the Costfest X.2 in Feb 12) that is in July this year, which is a bigger event, then you will be ready for the finale.. Anime Festival Asia 2012.

I tested it on my Body and i get the symptoms.

Anyone contacted Canon Singapore Yet about it ? 4k+ in a camera having such issues is extremely concerning.

Eh..this "issue" is VERY old news leh..it's been around for ages and talked to death in the forum already…
Actually, i read that Canon US and Canada and most likely more countries have halted shipment of the 5D3 until they "resolve" this "issue".
I maybe the odd one out but i'm actually happy that because they halted the shipments, this means Im' part of the rare few in the world who actually get to enjoy the camera in normal conditions and this "issue" doesn't affect me one bit…since i don't shoot with my lens caps on! The 5D3 is like the D800 now..only the rare few has one while the rest of the world waits indefinitely until a solution is found…hooray!!!

yup, going but probably 2 plus to 3 will reach. below is the programme:

20 April (Friday) kickstarts the event with anime merchandise and doujin booths. Lovely ladies clad in meido costumes will put a smile on visitors’ faces at Liang Court with their moe greetings. They will also pose for polaroid photos with you, courtesy of Liang Court.

21 & 22 April (Saturday and Sunday) are the highlights of the week.

Programme for both days:

1.15pm – 1.30pm: Introduction about the day’s events and brief intro about cosplay
1:30pm – “Live” Anime Band performance by Ryuusei
2:00pm – Anime Dance performance by Momo
2:30pm – Youth Cosplayers Talent Showcase
3:00pm – Senior Cosplayers Talent Showcase
4:00pm – “Live” Anime Band performance by Ryuusei
5:00pm – Talk Show “Who says cosplay is only for the
young?”

why are people so concern about light issue, when u should be concern have u fully exploit the camera function..... enjoy shooting ur 5dm3 is more worth it since you already paid so much... let canon find a way to resolve for us, as we already trust them by paying them 4k for their product lol or more with the lens we have.

Actually hor, I am not sure if canon can resolve the issue or not because I haven't mastered the art of shooting with body or lens cap on yet.

Maybe when I have mastered that complex art I will ask if canon has a fix for it.

I'm also trying to learn the learn the technique of shooting with lens cap on. I can't seem to gain AF.

Can Canon fix this Phenomenon too?

What filters are you using? Am using the B+W F-Pro ones and notice they do vignette too. I wonder if the XS-Pro would resolve that.

Mine's just a normal Hoya UV Filter.

I suspect could be the thickness of the filter. It happens with my B+W F-Pro too which is a regular thickness filter.

Some amount of vignetting at 24mm on ff is normal. Anyway, the built in peripheral illumination should fix it.

The corner fall off on the 24-105L is probably nothing when compared to the 24L wide open(>4stop at extreme corner), so don't worry too much about it. The effect of filter rim is often exaggerated, unless you are stacking.
