I too have similar experience at csc. The counter staffs need to know that the equipment they are handling, belongs to the customers. They ought to exercise care and caution when handling them, be it a 550D or 1DsMK3.

I really hate it when they walk around the service centre with the camera body, less the body cap.

Seriously.

They walked around with my 24-70L without both the front and rear lens cap when I sent it in this week too. I had some issues with the filter sleeve, so front cap off is ok. but REAR lens cap off? They should know that they could potentially damage the rear lens element and the contact points when they place the rear on the table, without the cap. Lol and some of them do own DSLRs themselves.

Halfmoon bro, this coming Sat and Sun, there's a mini cosplay event at Liang Court, starts at 1pm. Should be a good starting point for cosplay photography. :)

Maybe you can go to have a feel, then you will know if you are interested in this. If interested, aim for the Cosfest (a sister event to the Costfest X.2 in Feb 12) that is in July this year, which is a bigger event, then you will be ready for the finale.. Anime Festival Asia 2012. :D

i think 2 weeks ago i went to marina bay sand.... i saw a group of cosplay character... they were accompany by a few photographer ... they brought their own lighting kit seems pretty neat. hehe

Thinking of a getting an extra LP-E6 battery for the 5d Mark III, has anyone know where's the best price i could get? The original one of course.

I bought the kit set though but eyed all over in body price too.

Seems like a pretty decent price for a literally brand new body. Can consider but best to take a look at the actual item before committing.

Dun decide too long. It be gone before you know it

:bsmilie: same here. few years back when I replaced my 40D with a 1D3 I was like "wth this is really good stuff!" but after a few days the hype is all over and I came to my senses that my 40D is not that bad at all.

Still, we tend to pamper ourselves once a while... nothing wrong with that. :)

Tried once m3 at canon showroom, feeling good! but no chance to try D800 yet.
So mean canon got enough m3 stock for customer ? or need to wait ?

I think most stores should have it. But most of them will have the light leak from the LCD issue which Canon is trying to resolve. Apparently, some of the bros here dont have this problem, so if it really matters to you, you can try it test it at the shop first before buying (provided they allow you to do so)

Mark III's stock is being replenished from time to time and relatively fast enough to satisfy demand.

On the other hand.. D800/D800E/D4 stock is so low, someone jokingly told me the launch is equal to no lauch :bsmilie:

I have one ang moh stranger tourist who asked me where she could get a copy of D4/D800E in Singapore, this poor lady tried Marina Square (Cathay Photo), Funan IT Mall, Peninsular Plaza but to no avail.. She has checked Parisilk with no luck too. It happened on Saturday while I was walking around at Orchard Road. :bsmilie:

The D800 has, IMO a bigger issue they need to fix though... > And the Nikon D800 autofocus saga continues (with some comments on specific lens performance) – Ming Thein | Photographer

I've been able to replicate this light leak issue only when I followed the settings in the video... day to day I don't see the effect so far.
