Hi guys,

a newbie here and i need some help! I was playing ard with my 550D under the M setting.. i did not know what did i do and i got the exposure level to -2. How do i adjust it back to 0 ? i tried reading the manual but i just cant find it and tweak it back to 0.



sorry for my noob qns.. i just started to have interest in this hobby for a couple a weeks ago. :embrass:

The exposure compensation is based on your shutter speed, F-number & ISO. a -2 exposure means ur shutter speed is too fast. Try turning to AV mode, note down the shutter speed, then turn back to M, select the shutter speed that is shown during AV. THis should help.

hey guys i'm thinking of getting an extra batt & a filter for my 550d. i looked thru the lens work book and i'm considering between the protect filter or the circular PL filter cos i kinda like its effects. couple of questions -
1) where can i get a spare batt from and how much does it costs;
2) which brand of filter should i get; and
3) where can i get them at the lowest price from?

That one only work in AV mode. in M mode, u will be adjusting the aperture.

Which lens are u using? 18-55mm or 18-235mm? If it is 18-55mm, no use buying expebnsive filters like B+W, Hoya HD etc.
A good standard filter like Hoya Coated, Tokina, Marumi etc (made in Japan) should work well for 18-55mm lens.

was reading up last night and will most probably be getting a hoya multi-coated one.. where can i get one cheaply?

also how abt spare batt? also considering to get a 50mm f1.8 prime, mayb a 2nd hand one. what kinda price range should it reasonably be falling within?

U can shop online via the advertisers here. 58mm UV filter should be typically $20. 50mm F1.8 2nd hand is about $100.

Highlight Tone Priority seem to make my ISO 200 Landscape shots noisy...

That is suprisingly cheap for 550D battery!!

Turn off highlight pirority.
Read ur manual.

Crap... YOu should have bought 55-250mm IS instead of 75-300mm USM.
Rather Ex for Kit 1 + that lens....
But then, keep shooting to fully uterlise your camera value!!
