i am getting the screen protector from ebay. will let you know whether it fix nicely or not.
as the screen of 550D is 50x70mm
normal 3.3" is 50x68mm or 3.5" 50.5 x70mm .

It's from the exif file.

I think (not sure, need to confirm tonight) we can see it also from view finder.

its local and its very cheap. let me try out first when i receive the postage. and apply it to my 550D screen.

Here's what I got on my impulse buying at the ITShow yesterday:

1. 550D+KitI (18-55mm) @ $1449
2. Add the 75-300mm lens @ $199.
3. Add the Speedlite 270ex (can tilt up. woohoo!) @119
4. 2x8mb memory card.
5. Replacement 4mb memory card as the lens workbook out of stock. (hope i wont regret it)
6. Crumpler bag
7. 320GB Seagate external harddisk (IT show selling a $99)
8. Tripod (no brainer)

Paid with OCBC Visa Card, claimed a Audio-Technica ONTO Headphones.

Now my question:-

While testing the camera, noticed that it's using the flash to assist the AF in low light. Is this normal for Canon cam? This is my first Canon DSLR.

MS Color tell me 119 is only with 500D...
I should try that on MS Colors when their stocks comes in... i shall throw in feet stamping too.

Pendrive 8GB class 4.
No problems with 1080p videos at 25fps...

Coz saw in another forum that Some are experiencing auto stop during Full HD 30fps video recording using some class 6 cards... esp so when they snap a still half way thru video recordings.

Happen that to me when I use 500D with 4GD 50x memory card when recording video at 1080p 20fps. (Suddenly cannot recall the brand)
However, it is okay on 550D when I record video 1080p at 25fps.
Not sure if the new 550D buffer helps. So far, my longest video is approx 3 mins, no hiccups when played from HDD. (Hiccups when directly played from memory card reader.)

Beats me, my PC cannot fully uterlize the full 1080p movie as my LCD is only XGA... aka 1072 x 768. Only can view HD ready videos at best. -__-

Proud owner of a 550d Kit II. I decided to get a Kit II cos I was thinking can resell next time. get a good 1 to learn first?

Purchased following at $1756:
- 550d Kit II
- 16gb Kingston Class 4 SDHC (upgraded the 8gb pendrive)
- Hoya UV Filter
- Basic Cleaning Kit
- Canon 5 million dollar home
- Lens Book
- Digi Cabi DB-036

Anyone has a guide on cleaning kits?
I'm going to japan soon, should i get a tripod or flash for the trip?
Also thinking bout getting 50mm f1.8 lens there. would it be cheaper?

i checked with MS colour on extra batt & screen protector, they say not in yet... :dunno:


as for me, i paid $1249 at IT show for 550D body, 2x8g SD card, 1x320G Seagate HDD, lens workbook, tripod, crumpler 5 million dollar home bag. got the 50mm f1.8 for $89 and mini speakers w purchase of extended warranty ($150 for warranty). paid with UOB and got $5 ben & jerrys vouchers & lousy luggage tag. better than nothing i guess.

in addition, i got tamron 17-50mm f2.8 lens at MS colour (amk) for $630 cash, with free filter... btw, this is super noob question but if i use the lens filter, i cannot cover the lens with the cover? so how? :dunno: and how about the hood? the lens come with free hood.. what do i do with it? :embrass:

why cannot cover? i got filter i can use back my same cover le. cos its still e same size.
