Thanks to Soons and ShaneKua, now i understand why cannot download to PC. Yes, my card reader is anormal SD Reader. Managed to transfer via cable that comes with the box.

but i still don't feel comfortable about grainy picture on the LCD screen when enlarging it to check the shot taken. even changing picture quality to "S", still same grainy picture appear. my older 400D don't have this issue. if confirm this is normal, then will accept it and maybe feel better.

Thanks once again.

What ISO are you using? try a lower ISO

So any update for the screen protector?

Wanted to buy from daiso (psp screen protector, cut a bit), but some bro here said it is not good?

You mean the appear for about 1-2 sec after zooming in to review or it just stay on grainy forever??

GSS haven't start manufacture yet.
@Shane
not ISO problem, it is just the way 550D thumbnail & process the pictures when viewing. Only video thumbnails r saved on memory card, the rest are produced on-demand by digic 4. Consider very fast already for a small processor to open a 18MP picture.

I'm also waiting for the glass protector. I am currently using a cheapo $5 one which doesn't cover the entire glass, but i figure its better to cover around 90% than 0%

Went down and ordered my 550d at the Canon service center through the priviledged purchase program today:

- Kit I is $1151
- Kit II is $1429
- Delivery is estimated to be less than 3 weeks, let's see...
- Freebies as per Canon website (no Crumpler..)

The condition of your old trade-in Canon is virtually irrelevant. The girl filled in the whole form and only asked for the camera at the absolute end to key in the serial number of my old (non functioning) S50. I assume it went straight to the bin after that.

Ended up saving almost $200 compared to street price for kit I, so am a happy camper...

I think the crumpler is given to you when you register your warranty on-line.

Saw in ebay.sg lots of people selling the LPE8 battery... seems that the goods is from china/HK.

Anybody bought from them? or Someone kind enough to do MO?

All imitation/3rd party batteries.

Only saw 1 original that is near SGD $100.

$100? is it worth?

<<...also thinking bout getting 50mm f1.8 lens there. would it be cheaper?>>

I'm in Tokyo at the moment, and I haven't found any major bargains. I just checked at Bic Camera in Shinjuku, the price for the 50mm f1.8 is Yen 9980 = S$150, if you show your passport you would get local sales tax refunded, its about 5%.

I tried Auto ISO and also ISO at 100, same outcome. the moment i press the button to enlarge the picture (or zoom in or out) the pciture will look grainy. once i stopped zooming in or out, the picture is clear. if it is a problem and need to do an exchange, shall i go to Canon Service Centre or to COURTS for exchange.

Thanks be to all.

I customized daiso filter myself. Not bad for $2. So far no scatches or came out yet.

550D shoot interlace or progressive? 1080p? 1080i?

I don't know about you guys, but I'd be very wary about putting a cheapo 3rd party made in China battery into my ~$1,500K unit...
