:bsmilie:

Yo,

okay... didn't realize there is such rule...

Anyway, I am looking for spare battery, saw this one on Ebay is going pretty fast, at $14 each!
http://cgi.ebay.com.sg/GSS-True-1120mAh-LP-E8-Battery-Canon-EOS-550D-T2i-/180529440604
Wish to ask if there is any difference between Canon and this brand battery.
Any users of this battery? Any comments? Is china battery safe??

Original battery cost around $85 when i ask the shop!! So expensive!!

anyway, new member reporting.. bought my 550d and kit I last week... kinda regret getting kit I though.. should have just gone for the 18-200mm lens then can keep it as a travel lens..

also got a dry cabinet and a black rapid camera sling... next on my mind is a canon 50mm f1.4 lens.. hehe

by the way, any good cleaning kits to recommend?

hi guys~ ive poted before when i bought last May but had been busy so i hadn't been posting as of lately.. and i missed the previous outing. hopefully, i can join you guys next time. :)

btw, i bought a tokina 11-16mm and seems like in some 11mm photos, it doesnt look sharp.. is this what a 'calibration' is for? my frd said it might be minor shake.

did u use a tripod?

joining the club... just got the 550D body via Canon PPP for $992. i have $600 flexi-benefits from my organisation, plus this year's $200 GST credits, so total "damage" = $192 so far... everything after this is going to be expensive though...

Hi Guys! I too just got into the 550D action! ported from the Nikon d40x and i'm not regretting it! so far i'm using 2 glasses, the 70-200mm f4L and the 18-270mm tamron.. Looking for a cheap affordable tripod for bring oversea's.. don't think i'm a serious tripod user, but something with ball head will be nice.. Any recommendations??

Is the canon 50mm f1.8 II good to buy? seems really really cheap and i'm tempted to get a first hand one for $125, or should i keep the money and save for a 24-105mm f4L??

prime and zoom are like apple and orange. 50 prime is a good buy, i got mine first hand cos the price diff is like $20. if u save for a 50 prime ($125) and save for a 24-105 (1.3k), they are on a totally different saving scheme! anw 550D is a crop body so ur 24-105 is actually 38-168...

yup yup, but every 100 saved is a hundred added to the pool for the "L" Lens! hahaa... okay, I got your explanation anyway. I'll be heading down to MS tmr to grab myself a 50mm... any cheap affordable tripods? I see lots of manfrotto's in the market place.. are they heavy?

check SIRUI tripod at TK photo.. those carbon fiber is light.. i am using 50mm f.18 ONLY! because my 1st chapter of photography is PORTRAIT!

Alrighty! Thanks! hahaa.. i never did go into those chapters slowly by slowly.. sort of took it as and when I needed to do the sort of photography, i would read and learn..

look at ur moniter and imagine that it is 100%. now imagine u zoom in 160% and draw a box in ur monitor. how much screen area was cut off? how much screen area is left? that is what it means by a crop of 1.6x
