You have to first understand how it works.
When you use DOF preview, the apertire stops down momentarily to whichever setting you are at for you to gauge the DOF. When preview is not activated, the apeture returns back to widest aperture available. So if you set the aperture to wide open, what changes are you expecting to see? You are already previewing at wide open setting.
Actually quite envy you guys with all that nice load of lens lineup. I'm only with my kit lens and a 50 1.8, got my 5d2 somewhere before Christmas also. btw, what do you guys shoot mainly?? I do occasion events but my fav is landscapes!
onto the BBB topic, i'm swaying from a 17-40 to 70-200 (lost the reach when turned FF), or maybe i SHOULD start poisoning myself with primes?? I'm a lazy gal with knee problems.. so.. :bsmilie:

i shoot mainly landscape, at times portraits (TFCD shoots), street shots when i got nothing to shoot, and recently trying out macro cos my gf is into macros so i joined her! :bsmilie: but using FF doing macro got some disadvantage!
Then let the zoom do the "walking" la

Hey guys,
Been working on a project for my 5D...
I already have an existing Anton Bauer Stasis Flex for my video cameras as well as a 7 inch lcd screen.. so just waiting for my Genus Bravo Follow Focus.... THen its ready to be fixed together.
I have already made a modification to a matte box base plate so that i can attach the 7in lcd... its already mounted on my stasis flex. so maybe i will post that as soon as i can or maybe just wait for the follow focus first...
I also have 2 manfrotto quick release one i mounted to a tripod and the other to the base of the matte box base so i can switch between the tripod and the Stasis flex easily.
We gonna use this rig for a NTU Convo video we shooting... cant wait to test this rig out...
wah macro.. alot of patience needed
yah.. that's why kept my 24-105 since my cropped daystho low light situations can be a bit challenging
kept reading it's a waste if we dont pair a prime with a FF.. trying to resist this idea :sweatsm:

Indeed other than the better high iso IQ, the other biggest "change" i can see is the capability of getting even more "oof" with better subject isolation.
But waste or not is subjective. After trying out a few 1.4/1.2 primes , it is not the easiest to use them wide and nab accurate focus in fast pace shooting, i come to think a good quality zoom would be a great option as well. ( maybe if i started out with zooms, i will dream of primes, and it will never end .. )

Don't underestimate the 24-105, its capable of extremely sharp pics and is very flexible. They dont' just give the L designation for nothing.
