Just got my first prime lens today, 50mm f/1.4 USM. Nothing fancy, just trying out primes as I have been on zooms for like 2 years! Hope I can take the poison!Am loving it when I tested it for a few shots just now!

no one knows except canon. but by then we will have an Official 5DMKIII users thread. But with the current relatively lower pricing of the 5D MkII , i'd say it gives u cheap membership to this current thread, and start shooting

i havent own e 1.4x but from most online comment, the kenko 1.4x should give good quite reasonable IQ. 1.4x will definitely give much better IQ than the 2x. DGX is e newer series if i am not wrong.

I went to ask for 5D mkII and told the price is 3100 + body only. But i am concern if i buy this mth and next mth 5D mkIII releases and price of 5D mk II drop to 2500 ? possible?
i am also consider to buy from normal retailers and get 15 mths warranty or go get from Harvey Norman and get 3 years warranty ? What do u all think

:dunno: The wait is forever with such mentality.
It's anyone's guess on when the replacement model will be available and till then, don't waste time on waiting unless there's a clear indication that it will be out.

My take is, if you want to wait, then just keep waiting for the mkiii. Else, why wait for something that's just RUMORS still? Anyway, now would be a good time to get the mkii with all these rumors spreading around.
You are buying a FF camera, you can't go too wrong with that. And I believe with the initial launch price of a new FF, mkiii wouldn't be anywhere close to the mkii now. So, your take.

I just upgraded from 400D(4+ yrs) to 5D mk II and I am not worried about new replacement coming soon. I am happy with whatever features it has currently and intended to use it for next 4-5yrs before thinking about replacement. If you need the camera now, just buy it. Otherwise you can wait until you really need to buy or upgrade. If you are those who must have the latest model then you will always buy when new model is released.
I think 1 year or 15 months warranty is good enough. Don't go for the 3 years warranty as that will be a waste of money. It's better to use that money to get a good/better filter for your lens. Have fun...

I checked at Funan SLR revolution and 5D mk II body was 3136 cash. i am still in the midst considering this 5D mk II or wait for mkIII
