for me, i am seriously considering a 500mm reflex and a sigma 150mm macro(or KM 100mm macro). i find myself limited at these two ends, supertele and macro. right now just waiting for sulhan to confirm his mirror lens sale, but i think some pp already win the bid already(i was too late).

my nxt move would be to see how the tamron 17-50 performs. if it outperforms my sigma, i will be selling it, if not, sigma's here to stay.

edit: oh, and i might sell the 28 f2 to fund my purchase, though i cant bear to part with it, i think a macro or 500mm would be more useful than it.
get the 500mm reflex...tell us how it goes

That lens is comparable 'G' lens quality...u sure u want to get rid of it?
the taiwanese minolta users rated it as G lens without the 'G Tag'

is it? (start to belittle that lens)

its not that great... sell me cheap... it need a better owner...

cheap? how much is it?

the way he bought his 70-200 & D7D, i wonder how much he got that lens lor...

if that lens cost 400, i think he might have just gotten it for 150...

ok then i start the bid for the 28mm f2 at $150:p

it is very good, the optics is just great, but like what some pp said, the more professional the lens is, the less often it is being used(not in all cases though). this lens not doubt is good(or excellent i should say), but my sigma overlaps it, making it my least used lens. see how first, if there's a trade + topup for it with a reflex or macro, i think i might let it go. but this leaves me without a fast prime. oh well, anyway, i doubt a reflex or macro lens will surface soon.

u still wan ppl to top up for your lens? or u top up others?

tat lens is like worth 1/2 the price of a 500mm reflex only lor, in 2nd hand term...

yeah, with top-up of course. but this lens still have warranty too. right now, dunno which one to get first, macro or tele? i know need both, but dunno in what order.

Get the tarmon 90mm and the 500mm loh..
:D

U looking for both of them?

ok. timberwolfy gave me quite some details about extension tubes, but the focsing desitance it gives is not far enuf(becomes like my 18-50). reason i need a macro lens is that i dun want to go too close to subject yet still achieve 1:1(or somewhere near).

so right now, i have to make a choice: tele or macro? i cant really say which one i need more as in the first place, i did not buy them at first due to me not using then often. but now, i find some cases when i need them. so which one first? so hard to decide.
