that i am not too sure.. i am wondering too... got this soft from a guy in cs... if the repair guide can read then it will be very useful sia....

My exp comp dial is 7-series, cos it dropped off and they couldn't find a 7D-series one.
My AF is tweaked abit to make it slightly faster at the cost of sometimes hunting.
My metering was slightly tweaked to prevent underexposure when backlighting.

Hehehe satay why dun u zhng ur 7D. =P make it 7D mk2

Haha... because u see, the AF motor runs at full speed for a certain time, then it slows down as it comes closer to target, then even more as it approaches closer, then stops.

So, let's say "=" is full speed, "-" is medium, "." is low speed,
normal AF motor sequence is sth liddat

========-------.... stop

Mine was tweaked by the techs in KM to be

==============--. stop

So sometimes if the AF isn't sure it might hunt cos the motor turns too fast for the AF to keep up, but it's no problem because that only happens when one points the sensor at somewhere that has no contrast. For me, as long as light level is reasonable and there is contrast, it will pick up. The difference is quite subtle though. You wouldn't notice it if I didn't mention =P But it's nice to have!

I don't think it's possible to do this kind of "zhng" anymore cos of stricter controls in Sony :sweatsm:
