Just asking, Do any of you know why i always get under expose when i mount my sigma 12-24 to a 35mm? :dunno:

I set the mode to (A),(P) and with over 0.3-1 stop, still under expose. can anyone give some advice??

Tks

With a wide angle, you have probably caught more bright spots (spot lights or sun) which may have forced the camera to compensate. Use spot or centre weighted metering, ie manual metering.

Thank you. :D

Will try out this weekend.

Hey dude... is this shot with nikon 12-24? It seems to have serious distortion and light fall off at the side...

The distortion is slightly worse than my Sigma's 12-24... But overall still acceptable lah. hmm.. Not sure if that justisfy the extra $500 to pay for the nikkor ...

it's a DX lens, u cant expect no light fall off when put on film :/

distortion looks ok to me, it's at 12mm fullframe btw

I understand that.. problem is i also know that the 12-24mm cannot use for film at 12mm, the widest is only 18mm, otherwise it will have a black ring around the shot...

So my guess is this is prob shot at 18mm and not 12mm. if at 18mm, then the distortion and the light fall off is bad as even my tokina 19-35mm at 19mm fare much better....

hi, this is shot at 12mm. a bit of ps is done so that the round vignette is not so obvious

i see... the vignetting i guess doesn't look so bad since it's dark....The top part can be see as being chop off though...

Hey.. actually i like the light fall off of the DX lens on full frame :)

actually the light fall off is ps-ed in 1 ;p

maybe i should post the orginal pic

12mm DX lens at full frame - that's why have light fall off as seen in the pic?

Bite the bullet and bought the Nikon 12-24mm recently. Brought it to Hangzhou for 3 days but sadly most of the time have been raining. Still I am very happy with the color and sharpness it produce!

I have posted some photos here

#4 in that gallery has terrible distortion. What settings did you use?

Isn't that expected from such a low angle?

No special settings for #4. Just like melnjes mentioned, I shot from a very low angle almost close to the ground, so the distortion effect is what I am trying to achieve ;)

Bought the lens in HK for HKD7300 which with the favourable exhange rate is about SGD1550.
