#4 in that gallery has terrible distortion. What settings did you use?
This is actually not distortion in the actual sense, it is just perspective. Super wide angle lenses have this and is just optics.

Our eyes sees it this way too but our brains manage to correct it into an in our eyes 'correct' perspective.....When you don't hold your lens straight (levelled) you will get this effect of tall subjects 'falling' backwards, or things in the corners being 'stretched'.

Whatever lens you have (the best Nikon or Zeiss or third party lens) they all have this effect in different strength (depending on the focal length), so it has nothing to do with settings, or quality of the lens

No special settings for #4. Just like melnjes mentioned, I shot from a very low angle almost close to the ground, so the distortion effect is what I am trying to achieve ;)

Bought the lens in HK for HKD7300 which with the favourable exhange rate is about SGD1550.

Wow thats a really good buy! Hmm i guess u guys are right about the low angle part. My bad! :)

not here yet?

wow.. its been so long.. must be selling wildly in Japan.

at this rate, by the time it comes out, the sigma 10-20 will also be launched here...

i'm waiting for the sigma 10-20 liao.......

heard that this lens is selling hot in japan.... when is it in singapore?

About 4 months (since Oct) have past, and no lens in sight (in SG). All those lost photo opportunities! Opportunity cost should be taken into consideration as well when deciding which lens to buy...

believe me, i am low profile. :)

your influence ranges far and wide, any idea when the tokina will get here?

or someone do an MO lah. since there is interest. :)

comparing tokina and sigma, i would say that sigma has overtaken tokina in tech and quality of optics liao. now only the construction of tokina lenses i still have nothing to say..
