Makes you really wonder what they will be doing to the D300s replacement? FX sensor??? :devil:

Not sure what a D300s upgrade will be like, but the D7000 appears to be at the top of the Nikon DX hill right now, with its HD video, magnesium body, non-CPU lens input capability and upgraded AF sensors. Nice:thumbsup:

The top of the DX hill is still the D300S. D7000 was supposed to sit in between D90 and D300S. The AF array on D7000 (39 Points / 9 Cross Type Sensors) is still lower than the D300S (51 Points / 15 Cross Type Sensors). Theoretically, the increased cross type sensors on D300S should give it an edge over D7000 on faster AF tracking. However D7000 boasts with a brand new 2016-pixel RGB sensor vs the 1005-pixel RGB sensor on the D300S.

We have to wait and see the real world performance to come to any conclusion.

35 1.4!!! Finally!!!!35 1.4!!! Finally!!!!

though 200 f2 should top my list, but it's at the bottom of my affordable list. :cry:

when can i expect the D7000 be on the shelves?

Waiting for D90 Firmware updates........:cry::cry:

Updating the D90 (if any) won't make you have 39-point AF system includes nine center cross-type sensors.

Just go to D7000 Bro ;)

nine center cross-type :thumbsup::thumbsup:

I will be more curious on the ISO performance on D7000. 25,600 looks tempting to me :P

If it has usable iso6400 will be cool already

If it has usable iso6400 will be cool already

It's hard to achieve low noise in ISO6400 for DX camera.

If it's usable in ISO 3200, same with D700 a FX camera, it is already good ! :)

Makes you really wonder what they will be doing to the D300s replacement? FX sensor??? :devil:

  • 51-point autofocus system with 15 cross-type sensors.
  • 18 Megapixels
  • continuous shoot till 9 fps
  • ISO quality is similar with D700 performance
  • Full HD Video in 30 fps
:devil:

Just one word for the D7000 ... WOW ! ! !

At that price, definitely a good buy over the D90.
Any idea why the model is not called D9X (e.g D91 or D95) ? :dunno:

Camera with good features. Though I wished it had a tillable flip LCD Display screen exactly like the one Nikon P100 has for Low up and Top Down shots.

Q&A discussion on the D7000 :

Every D3000/D5000/D90/D200 user is definitely tempted to upgrade to D7000 too :cheergal:

I think because they want to stop using the current 2 digit series, as the Dxx/D90 should be positioned lower than Dxxx/D300 series.

Also D7000, D7100, ... D7500 would be nicer than D91, D95, ... D99 etc. IMHO
