Yeah I've just sent it in and suppose to collect on Fri. Anyway, I just saw your sig and realised we have almost the same lens setup. Anyway, do you feel that the 35mm tends to err on over exposure? I use it usually have to underexpose a bit so that the picture doesn't get washed out. Especially so when there are spotlights on subject. :dunno:

bro...I am looking for a macro lens....how the Tamron SP AF90mm Macro fair on D5k?...is it sharp?

and if ok...can share how much you got it?....

hello all!

hehe just got my d5000 today! =D
excited to start shooting with it.. still trying to familiarise myself with the cam. totally unused to it.. have used a film slr, pns, friends' dslrs.. but this is the first that i can call mine. hehe.

quick silly question.. how do i 'force' the cam to take a shot even when it is not exposed correctly? eg, if i intentionally want to make the photo dark. i tried in Manual mode but the shutter sometimes still doesn't release =/

gd to heard tt, well when i first sent it, i got it back in 2 days time..:P hmm wht is ur aperture settings? wht kind of photos r u shooting? are u using any filters??

Wide open. 10 bucks cheapo filter. No general style but just seems a bit over exposed to me. Probably due to how I meter bah but I've read some peeps with the same problems so just wondering.

500ish or so. Very sharp but not an easy lens to use since no VR (I have shaky hands!). I recommend you wait for the new 85mm f3.5. Not as pricey as the 105mm and early reviews seems quite positive about it. Might sell my Tamron and go for that if more good reviews come out.

105 is beyond my reach lah....
am looking for something less than 600....dun even mind 2nd hand..but must have warranty...

thats why looking at 85mm nikkor or tamron...or sigma...

I thought you wanted a D3000!

sometimes when it focuses, but it's deemed too dark by the cam, it doesnt fire leh..

Most likely to be because of focus. When the camera doesn't focus (usually occurs in low light), it will not take the shot.

Either use Manual Focus (set using the switch on the lens) or try pointing to objects around that are at the same distance, focus, then recompose.
