Nikon D2Hs vs D300

Yup, much. Which is why I'm surprised you say the D300 is better than the D2Hs...

I've got to dig out some old D2Hs files now, you've got me thinking about it. I've never actually owned one, just had one from time to time from NPS. Loved it so much more than the D2h; the less said about that the better.

yup i read it on web too... forgot what the links... but with the picture comparation between d2h and d2hs, d2hs is a lot better on noise... and comparing pictures taken with d2hs and d200 , d2hs got better again in colour... hhe.... but still now wants to see the result from d300 and d2hs....

if u guys have a pic from d2hs with high ISO please upload it here, thx anyway for the feedback guys!

now what should i take? d2hs or d300? :dunno:

It really depends on what you are after. If you dun mind the 4 megapixels sensor and a slightly older model, I would advise you to take the D2hs.

However, if you are after the latest stuff, including lastest focusing module, and dun mind not having the pro body build, then go after the D300.

Both are really gd cameras. It really depends on you.

In choosing which camera to take, you also have to consider the amount of money you have to spendon getting memory cards to satisfy your needs. For D300, if you shoot in pure RAW format, you probably need a couple of minimum 4 gb memory cards.

Just my 2 cents only,:)

mmm i don't mind if it's 4MP or what... coz this camera(D2Hs) has proven it's 4 megapixel can do better than d200 12 megapixel... and this 4MP can print to big sizes too like poster, etc.

here's some link that compare the d200 vs d2h... http://www.momentcorp.com/review/d2hvd200.html

i really like the colour of d2 series, and now wants to know the result from d300.... is it better from the d2hs/d2h or not?

now i recently shoot fast cars and go kart... (race events, automotive, etc)

hope u guys can get it, coz my english is not too good... :D

let us know your view after you compare d2hs with d300.

sI have never used D300 before, so I dare not comment on its noise control and colour. But for the D2hs, I am quite satisfied with it from its build all the way to its noise and colour.

I have heard that D300' focusing module wins D2hs hands down. So you may have to ask yourself whether the focusing speed of D2hs is good enough for you.

Hope this helps

To be perfectly honest, the only reason I see to get the D2Hs is the high ISO. In daylight the D300 will deliver far superior pictures, with superior technology. If you *need* the high ISO, then get the D2Hs. Any other reason, I'd really, really struggle to go beyond the D300. Price considerations aside.

1 more point to consider. Do you need the ISO 100? Cos D2hs does not have it.

ISO 100? mmmm don't really need at all.... why? is there any big difference between ISO 100 and ISO 200? and how about ISO 200 in D2Hs/D2h? is it good?

I am not sure. But ISO 100 is quite important for long exposures at night.

Is quite gd. Frankly speaking, the noise control of D100 is better than D2h but not D2hs, imho.

oww i see.... mmmm but in this condition is not a big problem to me, coz i rarely take photos at night hhe....

does anyone here use both D300 and D2Hs? please compare the noise, and upload it here, thx very much...;)

I haven't really seen D2Hs' high ISO performance. I suppose it should be good considering the pixel size. I'd put D300 about 2 stops slower than D3 for the same noise performance. I personally feel that D2X low ISO performance up to ISO800 is slightly better than D300 but D300 would beat D2X for ISO beyond 800. So I would put them somewhat on par. For the price I think the D300 is a good buy. Of course I think D3 is a better buy if high ISO noise performance is important. ;p

Actually the test there does not reflect the noise performance of D2h, but more of D2hs

So I guess it's a good approximation of the noise of D2Hs then..
