It is CMOS, not a derivation of it. Only the CMOS we are used to uses MOSFETs, while the JFET LBCAST uses.. well, JFETs.
JFET and CMOS processes are very different processes. JFET is closer to bipolar transistor process.

I got my D300 yesterday and if there is 1 reason you should get it for is the huge screen. It is a great camera overall with many many little improvements here and there that make a difference.
51pts 3D AF tracking which follows your subject!
:bsmilie:
D80 can use AA batteries, but unless I have run out of Lithium batt I don't think I will every touch AA batteries. And it is real hard to run out of batteries on either D2x or D80. I think the current batch starting from D2H has never been "battery bad" anyway. D1 and D100 are also fine, just that I don't like Ni-MH. Heard D200 was bad, but how bad it is I don't know since I have never played intensely with it.
Pay airfare to keep my camera? ;p
I think a 2nd hand camera in better condition in B & S is a better idea... later you take two shots on the D2x and shutter break on you...... :bsmilie:

May I know how fast and accurate is the tracking?
Thanks
Hey guys!
I was considering which of the two cameras to buy too. My final decission is the D2Hs. If you want to know why I go for the D2Hs, I can tell you. If someone wants to know how good the noise-reduction is, maybe I can do a simple test.
possible to compare it to the D300?
thanks
I don't know actually. The reason that I pick the D2Hs is because I see many pro using this cam and it produces very nice color. I don't need the 12MP and if I want to print a huge poster I will boost the resolution up in Photoshop. The AF is extremely fast! D300 does have that fast fps too, but only when the verticalgrip is attached. I am told that the press-button of the verticalgrip of D300 is too sensitive. Besides, D300+verticalgrip cost much more here than D2Hs (in Europe, since I live in Europe).
If there are interests, I can shoot some high ISO with D2Hs. D2Hs may be 'outdated' (although it is only 3 years old) and this cam is the little brother of the king D3. In contrast to D300, which is the brother of D200. It is a very good cam too (with no doubt). But both cameras come from different classes. For me, D2Hs satisfies my needs. And that is why I go for D2Hs and use my D70 that serves me for many years as a backup cam.
sorry to hijack, anyone knows how much would a brand new d2hs cost now ?
I am also considering the same options, until i saw this thread.
sorry to interrupt... but cathay photos onli left wif a D2h.
Should I give up my beloved D2h for the new D300? D300 seems to offer better features and photo quality. Need some advise.
Thanks
