Nikon Coolpix P7000 non technical/scientific field test

remnants of the contents of a bottle of XO ?

My personal feelings: This camera is bad for me. Why?
it is mainly because it is too light and too easy to get good results
so much so that i have neglected my DSLR

for those who like maximum Depth of field for that everything is sharp from front to back, this camera makes it so effortless.
do remember that this is an advanced P&S camera, so don't go expecting it to be able to replace a DSLR

eg. the battery lasts a rated 350 shots, did not get the chance to confirm this. shutter response is also not as fast as a DSLR

I hope that this was helpful to you

it also works great with an external flash

the one thing i really like about P&S cameras is the ability to do strange things

I think drinking is out for him at the moment :bsmilie:

Anyway, nice reviews can see your having a great time with the P7000 :)

how is the build quality and feeling in your hands?

Do you get the focusing error like reported in dpreview forum? I read the menu response is very slow, is it true?

yup no drinking and yes great fun

how is the build quality and feeling in your hands?
it feels solid and big enough for my hands

i did experience some focusing error when doing extreme close up shots, but it went away
i am not sure if it is an isolated case, best to get official word from Nikon

Menu response, just how fast is it suppose to be? i was having too much fun shooting to notice with the speed of the menu response

Thanks for sharing. Decided to get 1.

still playing with it, will post more peek tures soon and maybe a video

Hey Ortega bro.. thanks for the great review! Does this P7000 come with GPS geotagging?

Hey Ortega bro.. thanks for the great review! Does this P7000 come with GPS geotagging?

Sadly no, geotagging was only found on the p6000

someone asked me how long it takes to write a raw file,
the answer is around 4-5 secs from shutter button release to end of writing to card

Hi Bro,

Thanks for the review.
P7000 is the 1st Nikon compact which feel the image quality is really good.
Unfortunately got some issues reported by users on focusing and slow raw writing.
Hopefully Nikon could address the issues with firmware update.

the high iso photos look rather good. However, I do feel that default sharpening is still rather conservative as usual;p

Overall, seems rather good and competent as an advanced compact. btw Ortega, any comments on the VR?
