No D3100 / D700 / D3 / D3s in Comex 2010

A few of our Nikon Kakis are engaged by Nikon Singapore at the Nikon Booth. Their job is to be the technical advisers ie. if the sales ppl there do not know the technicalities of the DSLR or even photography technicals. These advisers will be referred to help out. Of course if they managed to convince ppl to buy they also do have a little commission.

So look out for them if you want to get something or if you need expert advise on which camera/lens is suitable for your purpose.

They are Catchlight -Ben (Thur and Fri only), Sprintist (Sze Kiat) and Jeff (the guy with a pony tail)

Cheers
:)
Oh really, I only managed to talk to Jeff and I convinced my friend to buy the D5000 yesterday instead of waiting for the D3100. The 7 goodies are worth it especially the 38L Dry box. He also got the 55-200VR & an extra batt for $199. What a bargain!

It was a dry cabinet la. Akarui E40D. The dry cabinet was the deal breaker man.. That sealed my purchase at Comex.

A bit surprised why Nikon don't take this COMEX exhibition as a good opportunity to show off their latest camera models and sell them. ? ? ! ! :dunno:

Perhaps they consider here a small market and want to wait and do it at the Photokina 2010 at Germany . sigh ...

:angel::angel::angel:

higher end models like D700, D3/s/x are high grade professional cameras, Comex usualy attract bargain hunters looking for a good deal.

I believe people who are more interested in these models would head out to NSC or their fav dealers to try them out at their own comfort without having to squeeze in the crowd. :)

As for D3100, i believed it was only announced internationally 2 weeks ago so noone would have physical stocks to sell them so why would someone want to showcase something when it's not available for sale.

You are right, generally for D700 and above, they are not the market segment for Comex. Very few ppl buying those will buy it at Comex, but the majority get it at their preferred retailers.

Furthermore, space and time is premium in Comex. Hence having a booth just to display and for ppl to feel and touch the D700 and other high end camera probably will end up as white elephants there.

As for the D3100s and new stuff, unfortunately the production is unable to meet the world demand and being a small little red dot, even COMEX did not attract any priority in getting them earlier :( very sad .

ANyway after comex we will schedule for a molestation session of the new lenses and if the D3100 is in it will be a bonus, so stay tune.

I remember at the last show they had the D700 for people to try and the D3 displayed inside the glass case. D700 was also on sale.

As I remember, Canon and Nikon have never displayed Full Frame Camera during exhibition.

Only Sony did.

Can't wait to get my hands on one of these little beauty, sure to pack some punches;p

The D3000 and D5000 deal seems to be quite good with the dry cabinet.... while the D90 is not great...sigh...

yeah the d90 price still so high after 2 years, while the 500d which came out like a year ago is already <$900. canon's product cycles seem to be much faster than nikon's, since the 550d is already out

Yes, I think from the last 2 shows, the figures may not not justify it - anyway its my guess not any inside info ;p

Look for the slim guy with a spec and white hair. He will not be there on Sat and Sun cos he got plenty of business at his studio this weekend :)

Any bro getting d3000 or d5000 but not getting the $199 55-200mm lens + battery? I will like to buy the 55-200mm lens + battery from you at the same price if you are willing.

We can arrange to meet up at Comex this weekend.

Nikon booth is jam packed! Our Nikon Kakis are very busy.
Good sales

Thumbs up for our Nikon kaikis! I wish I can visit, but I am unavailable the entire weekend.

They are wearing black (MIB):) , others sales rep wear white.

If anyone wants a D5000 with the bundle let me know.
Instead of a Dry cab, I have an SB400.
I hope it's not against the rule, but I'm just helping out those who are interested since it's Comex deal.
