Many Thanks to Rain Rockwell's comment & after I have reviewed my shooting style and my fav focal length. I have decided to opt for 28mm f/1.8G for my new D800..Initially, I was aiming for N24-70mm; but due to it's cost, I hv to look for an alternative.
After much review on the pictures I have taken at flickr; I enjoyed shooting at 17mm DX; I am more of an environment portraiture photographer than a close up. Hence, I decided to 28mm is the best for me. If I need close up, I can go for my existing primes of 50mm & 85mm or 70-200mm.
if i need zoom, no choice but to mount on the DX King 17-55mm f/2.8
28mm to take advantage of the high-res D800 for it's price is perfect for me and it complements on the lenses I hv.
Hope this is helpful for some who are considering.
