My Conclusion :
AF : very accurate, even in low light with wide open.

Wide Angle : maybe you will prefer on 24mm or wide to suit you need.

Bokeh : yes, if you compare to 50mm f1.8G, but the only bad on 50mm can't close up focus at minimum 450mm only.

CA : yes, when shot in white object, For me when used on 50mm f1.8G is only slightly than 28mm f1.8G.

Detailed : yes, can given the photo as HD image.

Price : worth this.

The rest if you needed this range, is no comment to be have it.
My Experience is very happy to own it, so far still no regretted.

Thanks!

Anyone knows any place with stock now? Checked with my usual shops but all OOS.. :(

Thanks buddy, just got 1 piece.. first impressions - the shape and size is quite similiar to the Nikon 12-24mm DX, but build is much poorer.. feels more 'hollow' and cheaper.
IQ wise is pretty impressive so far, i find it sharp and contrasty. Prefers this focal length to my old 35mm f/1.4G

I don't mean to be disrespectful but its really hard to read what you are writing.

"Bokeh : yes, if you compare to 50mm f1.8G, but the only bad on 50mm can't close up focus at minimum 450mm only."

So are you saying its better or worse than the 50 f1.8G?

good!

yes i do agree with u the build feels not just plasticky, but badly put together. the parts feel like giving way anytime. haha

just curious, how much did u buy? between $800-$850?

Got it for $850... there are some places who quote slightly lower but all no stock.

I was about to ask whether about the bokeh when compared to the 35mm f1.4 G lens. Do you think the 28mm's bokeh is quite as nice as the 35mm wide open?

Hey bro, personally i think the 35mm f/1.4G bokeh looks more creamier and pleasing to me. the 28mm f/1.8G bokeh seems a tad less creamier... personal opinion la.. :P

ok thanks!

Tried it at NCS, the focus ring like will drop off anytime , hahahaha, but the IQ are good.
35 f1.4G creamier > 28 f1.8G less creamier
35 f1.4G very expensive > 28 f1.8G less expensive
I think it's a good buy

Agreed.. this is one of Nikon's best value for money performance lenses so far.. :)

Can I now which shop got stock and with reasonable price ?

28/1.8 tested at NSC. Quick test few shots only.
Verdict:
- Bokeh quite pleasing.
- Auto-focus is fairly quick from end to end.
- Sharpness: seems pretty good to me.
- Handling is quite balanced on medium-sized bodies like D7000. Feels all right on the FX bodies as well.
