Newbies Outing (part 11) - June 26 Saturday, Helix Bridge Sunrise

Not sure, 1 pic is about 7MB, still very new in flickr so not sure how to reduce the photo size to download into flickr??

Hihi, with the use of several photoediting software like PS4 or LR2 or 3 or even some freewhare like picasa will give u this option call "resizing". :)

Oh my goodness  no wonder you exceed quota la...
For web viewing, I upload to photobucket at 900x600 (for standard 1.5:1 crop), which is only about 300-350kB per photo.

Just about any photo editing software should have some "resize" or "scale" function.

PS4 has a feature that compresses photos and resize known as "Save for Web & Devices..." and I resize my shots to 1024 x 670-800 (changes due to cropping), and most of my photos end up with less than 200KB.

Hope that helps.

I used to use PS3 and I think it's even easier. Some action or something... then you just put the length of the longest side as the limiter (for both horizontal and vertical limits, i.e. square), and process all the pics one shot.

In PS CS4, go to "File | Save for Web & Devices..." menu or Alt+Shift+Ctrl+S in Windows, then you may be prompted with a message complaining that your image size may exceed the size Save for Web & Devices... was designed for, not to worry, just click Yes to proceed.

When you are in there, on the right bottom corner of the dialog box, change the Image Size accordingly. I would normally set the bigger number of either W or H to 1024 px, and don't forget to set Quality to Bicubic . Then Save!

That's it.

Somehow I forgot to write Sharper in Bicubic Sharper in the Quality box. Btw, you are welcome!

not sure whether it is the right place to post this.. but i have a question. how does one shoots at night up in the singapore flyer. Coz i was up there a few days ago and I kept having glares (due to the lights and the glass) which makes the picture look bad.. how do i overcome shooting behind glass at a night landscape?
