Newbies Outing (part 11) - June 26 Saturday, Helix Bridge Sunrise

my goodness
so bright ah?

90 secs for sky, 180secs for buildings.

haa.. okie.. since u offer.. but this week dunoe got time to use not..
Actually my main intention is to do a side by side comparsion on the same scene, same settings, same framing, same subject and see how warm or how cool the 2 differs from one another. . . . .

You wan then take early, coz Fri I leave for KL already won't be back for a week. I don't really need to shoot LE one, so you can use for 3 weeks.

the pp part to stack them together took me some time to process
next time I try bro NNB black card method :)

Good shot!
My only nitpick is that the under-construction building is a tad overexposed. I think you shot some bracketed exposures, right? Can try stacking them as layers in photoshop/GIMP, and do some layer blending to reduce the brightness of the construction area.

Nice shot Keyson.. But watch ur exposure levels (esp those construction lights on tight, 1 tad overexposed.. a black card might be useful in this kind of situation, if not layer blend to reduce if u had taken any bracketed exposures

Love the blue.. and if only there's aint any wind.. with those still n complete reflections, it will be even better

i notice too, is it bcos mine setting? :dunno:

Mine setting
1. jpeg fine
2. auto white balance

hahaha you so kind.
Did you get that shot with your tripod in that weird configuration which I suggested?... hehehehe I CLAIM CREDIT if it was!

Perhaps you fine-tuned the auto WB to be even cooler, hence super blue... hahaha. i know 'fujiwara' would like this type of colour.... but a bit too blue la... :) not so natural.

the shot i post here was all from that weird configuration... its weird but works :D
haha ok i write in mine flicker credit to you ;)

i was so pre-occupied at location 1, didnt have the time to go down to location 2 to check hw ur guys are doing. Ends up most of the nice shots come from location 2~!!! Credit to the seniors overseeing those at that locations

And whats the wierd configuration tat ur guys spoke of, curious to find out more leh.. :

At location 2 there were temporary platforms in the extreme foreground. Using the ultra wide angle, you invited them to your composition.

To avoid them and getting the full reflection, I had to use 2 shortest leg of the tripod sit on the barrier and 1 longest leg rest on the floor. Just need to be careful dun drop your DSLR to the river ;p

Credit to ZerocoolAstra's idea ;)

So many pros in this outing. Picture speaks for itself already.

No one commented on my photo?

Bro no one comment means nice mah! ;) Exposure and all very nice!
Very nice la. But only thing I see is that a little more room above the MBS would be nicer.

Waaaa... ZCA.. we can retire already. :bsmilie: We are running out of newbies...

Repost here for Bro NNB sake,...

Pretty nicely done Eugene~!
But if i will to nitpick, i will shift the MBS abit more to the left, its all abt compositional balance, felt the leading lines is not strong enough and the right side is a little tight..

Thanks bro DD123 and NNB for your kind comments. Needed the C&C to see where I stand and room for further improvements! :D
Didn't really consulted any seniors as I am not sure what to ask. Hopefully by the next outing, im ready to 'throw' my question marks. :p:p

nice colour...
nice exposure...

composition is also nice! But I agree with bro NNB... stand more to your left and rotate your camera slightly to the right will be more balanced.

hehehe... I noticed that the foreground kept getting into the pic, and I saw Chillicrab1 leaning the tripod against the railing, which was a bit unstable not to mention risky too. Then I noticed that the railing had a concrete base, so configured the tripod legs such that 2 were on the concrete base and 1 was on the floor. Thus could get a few inches closer to the railing, making it easier to exclude the foreground.
