[SunChasersSG] Newbie Outing (Part 15) - Clarke Quay Sunrise 7th Aug

Yes, you know what? You know Jack! And he's alright

Hmmm, what to buy next, I still got BBB virus ... maybe an L plate?
:cheergal: Buy Buy Buy

Look at me, I'm pretty with my bag and tripod ... quick snap me!
Look at my muscles, let me flex them somemore for you ;)

Nice captions, Ding bro!

Wah Song, when you starting your own outing? Looks like you have attained Primary 2 already ... soon will be in Primary 3, like us!

I am still way way behind all the seniors, I still don't know much about photography. I am still in Kindergarden, not P2 lah... ;)

I know you bigger size than songws, but don't have to beat him to a pulp with that Gitzo and RRS ballhead!

For #5, you aligned Central to be vertical, but because it's on the side of the frame, the rest of the buildings are actually not aligned properly. Should try to judge the proper alignment by using the buildings in the center of the frame.
You notice that Riverside Point, Swissotel Merchant Court Hotel, etc are not vertical?

Yes... I saw it not vertical...I take this picture without using tripod so didn't notice it. Will take note on this. Thanks bro.

Your #1 (and maybe#2) there is some weird pixelation in the jpg. Looks like dots or soemthing. Did you down sample the colors too much when exporting?

#5 is a little over done and horizon is tilted. Look at the bell tower.

Anyway winkoo88, good work. Your shots have improved a lot. You can be guide already. ;)

Erm... I am not sure bro(weird pixelation), maybe will find out from u again when i see u next time.
Yes, I know #5 is tilted and I also feel abit over done. Still not good doing digital blending, just read the wedsite and try out.

Like DD123 said, a little overdone. Can see the discrete lines past the square (tallest) building on the left side in the sky. In fact it looks like it's caused by the halo from the building. Other than that, all the buildings look a bit too bright compared to surroundings, without being overexposed, which makes it a bit fakish.

That's why I was interested in what you did - was it HDR or blended exposure from two or more pics? Or something else.

Hi wildcat, I am using step by step on the wedsite share by NNB earlier post (digital blending). I only use 2 pictures to do this.

more than 2 weeks late....anyway here are mine.
Any C&C will be welcomed.

#3 and #4 are similar but taken at a somewhat different timing, hence the cloud different. The cropping is somewhat different too.

#7 ND110, was hoping but didn't manage to get a more dramatic sky as Eugene.
#8 was an attempt to squeeze as much things in as possible at 18mm zoom.
The tall building look somewhat tilted but a check with a square box in pp shows that it is straight....

More of my photos of this outing are here

Nice shots bro! Well done!

Just note that I think there is a little tilt to the right in the first few pics.

Need to line up the verticals in the center of the pic to make sure it is level.

Thanks.

During pp, i was checking whether the building is tilted as it sure does by just looking. Just maybe, the building isn't really straight to start off with or is just me? I will double check the photo again.

btw, the lights from the bridge really spoilt some of the photos... :sticktong

Great shots CT. #1 is my fav among the lot. Nice and vivid colours

Do go a little easier on your highlights and shadows though. Can see some halo around some of the buildings and trees on the left hand side especially.

better late than never!
I really like the capture of the clouds on the glass wall of Central, and the colours too...
the boats form a nice leading line to Central...

Thanks.
If the lights on the bridge are off, the reflection of the river should be a nice blue colour of the sky....

Didn't notice it till you mentioned it, really can see halo on a closer look. looks like I need to add a couple more steps in pp next time for such photo.

Thanks.
The sun came out briefly before going behind the clouds.
I was trying not to cutoff the boat and find a best way to crop it off nicely.
Another significant thing is that I can see some vignetting in some of the photos on a better monitor instead of the one in my house....doh...
