Those who are eyeing the D300s (me too!) I asked Bryan the est RRP and he said somewhere in the region of $2999!!!!:faint: same as when D300 first launch? Look like I have to keep my D90 for a little longer:cry:

RRP abt 2699, retail should be $2.5k some of the retailer already quoting 2.5k. Probably in a month or 2 when demand stablise it should be $2.3 to $2.4k (my "guesstimate" )

Oh PE, sorry i dont know if this was asked before. but does the D300s come with any free CF or SD cards or any bags along with it? Whats the base package like?

Woo... sounds really cool. So is anyone able to confirm if it will be in stores tomorrow? Checked with CP, Alan etc, all say no clue when the stocks will arrive, let alone the price of the D300s.

Freebies will depend and vary from retailer to retailer. Since this is new and demand may be high or supply low, the retailer may not give freebies.

Comex will definitely have freebies but the price may be higher. So it is very much on whether you really need the freebies or are tehy useful vs the best price.

Seriously I am not a retailer nor working inside Nikon hence the discussion on pricing is much on estimation and no inside info

But i agree with Hex, ima gonna hit it too, tops would be 2.5. Anything more i might just think about saving up more and settling for a D700.

Oh and like discussed, which shops are we likely to expect to carry these stocks? seeing even Three sixteen had no clue when i went down yesterday. They were all: (Most likely septemper october onwards :sweat: ) Im gonna start hitting the shops tomorrow to check it out. Cant wait,

Looking at the photo I took using D300s yesterday, Iso setting at 3200, I'm really really impressed. Compare them with my D90 last night and all I can say is....wow!!! the image quality is damn good. :thumbsup::thumbsup:

I thought the image quality of the D90 was almost the same as the D300. If the D300s is much better than D90, does it mean that the D300s uses a different sensor than the D300?
