Sigh.......

This part, I have to agree with chngpe01.

There will be some ppl who will be happy... since they can get those second hand camera at a cheaper rate ;)

Hahahaha

Not likely, I can make do with my present set-up and still easily earn a living from it.
Not that switching will help me earn more.

On the contrary I'll actually lose more money if I switch (unless some one in Canon can do a one on one exchange for all my setup  )

BTW I don't just use one system, I have another called Mamiya ;p

wah chngpe,
first time i see you doing banal talk in nikon folder:bsmilie:

you should do this more often so you'll shed your mata image!:bsmilie:

yeah man i responded to u in the canon forum... hehehe

actually dun say liow.. the d2 is unsuitable for me as i need useable iso1600. so as a "pro" nikon user, i'm not even using their pro cams! i'm on d200... which is quite honestly, a compromise. i wouldn't mind the d200 sensor in the d2x, then again, it's still not good enuff when u compare to canon.

so with this "announcement" on june 26, i'm not excited. i (we) have been waiting and we're impatient, which makes us dubious as to whether they (nikon) can do it anot.

that said, the "prosumer" nikon slrs are doing very well.... maybe i should just go back to making photography a hobby, not a job. :bsmilie: :bsmilie:

jOhO,
me too is not really excited......but will see.

:bsmilie:

I think the D3(?) body will be the clearest signal of the direction that Nikon has in mind. If it is yet another cropped sensor, then I think you can conclude that the FF will never be a reality and remain Canon's niche.

it seems that they are calling top press people to meet on that day to unveil a camera that is "leaps and bounds better than anything Canon is offering"

thou i'm a canon user, i would want to see what do they meant by leaps and bounds better!

The recent marketing tagline for Nikon on buses?

"No bells, no whistles. Just Nikon Technology."

Hmm... If its nothing more revolutionary other than the inclusion of AF points, faster speed, well, I AM going to be disappointed.

Nikon Digital Medium Format anyone?

With cropped sensor the size of 24mmx36mm so that all the 35mm lenses can still be used? ;p

no coffeemaker and no toaster nvm la... i just hope that it has a 7inch lcd screen that occupy the whole back of the camera, and i can use a stylus to play game on it like the nintendo ds lite...

and then hopefully the screen can be swiveled off for u to insert vcd and dvd and so that u can watch vcd and dvd on the move.

and oh ya lastly, it should have a built in atenna that serve 2 functions: (1) transmitt files to computer wirelessly and (2) receive TV channels from malaysia so that we can watch soccer instead of subscribing to scv.

based on these expectations, will i be thoroughly disappointed?

1 more small request...

After the whole day shoot, the camera body can work as a vibrator to massage photographer's back....can arrr?

Cropped from what ? MF ?:bsmilie:
If the rumours of 1.1 crop are true, then the size should be around 21.8mm x 32.7mm.
I wonder what's the implication on the lens prices ? Better start hoarding 17-35mm 2.8 before prices go up :D

I remember (not so long ago) some people here in CS saying that there would not be a lot of interest in a Full Frame Nikon.

I wonder why this thread is so popular then...

Can..., but due to its battery size, it is only vibrate for 3 minutes. Otherwise, you need to bring a lot of battery of extension power cable ;) .

Regards,
Arto.

there is a full frame f-mount dslr

dont b surprise that nikon will use kodak and fuji sensors - who seems to b a better controller of noise.

Nikon should do this before they launch the D200 2 years ago. So the jumpship pattern is from the white side to the dark side. but too bad.

Well we'll just have to wait and see if theres any jumpship phenomenon to the darkside :bsmilie: :bsmilie: :bsmilie:

the fastest way to the market is to buy over your competitor, supplier or distributor. in this case, nikon doesn't have to buy over kodak. since kodak used nikon lenses, nikon can reciprocate by using kodak bodies and add a few spices would have suffice and save yrs of R&D and $.
