New Leica Store in Singapore

I think on the whole, having a Leica store is big plus.

I certainly hope they will create more activities to foster the Leica community (old and new) in Singapore. Gallery, Exhibition and guest speakers. And of course sell heaps of M9, Nocts and Lux(s).

What I hope won't happen is an elite store that doesn't have memories (of past customers), degrade film users, has passionate sales staff but high turn-over.

One question is, do you think Leica store will sell any 3rd Party products ? Do you think it will dilute the brand or enhance the ecosystem ?

A similar brand could be the applestore.

Asked about the 50mm f.95 and they have no idea when they will be getting new stock. Asked about the Billingham for Leica and again all sold out (think they had two) and no idea when they will get stock.

Spoke to a very pleasant female staff about some of the products and asked her for some advice regarding the different lens only to be told (honestly I have to admit) that she doesn't shoot so could not advice me. She's never shot a rangefinder:what:.

Anyway, nice place with very pleasant staff, but with the expected shortage of stock which is apparently quite common at other Leica boutiques.

They do know about Leica products but of course, not as in depth as us.

Very friendly staff there though, had a chat with them, they do admit that their product knowledge on Leica would lose out to us but will try their best to answer our questions.
