I checked with some US folks on DPR and the GH3 from US is NTSC only. Unlike the hacked GH2, where it can be set to PAL/NTSC. So cant buy from US... : (

Can't buy from JP as well... probably menu in Japanese only.. no choice have to wait for SG.. furthermore for body it is better to buy with warranty..

I probably will not buy from hk/tw due to warranty not supported locally.. at least for cam body.. or does anyone know of any online / retail shop in these countries giving genuine pany warranty internationally ? other than digital rev who is giving Sg purchases warranty but it's those "you pay first then claim from them type".. digital rev price is quite ex anyway..

anyone interested in an underutilized GH2? have one to clear cos i don't have time to shoot video anymore. personally, i don't see much point getting gh3, since the gh2 is so hackable that it can hit 102mbps bitrate on video. just saying

I guess ppl are buying for the 'MUCH' better LCD screen, some want the batt grip, some likes the headphone jack, some look forward to the straight forward 3.5inch audio input.

And for some of us including myself, we won't use a hack camera for important paid work that doesn't give you the liberty to run into any problems at all. Its just not worth it.

I guess enough reasons? But if you are a indie film maker & shoots for leisure, without dateline & stress the hacked Gh2 will work wonders.

Nah, unless you are using a super duper high bitrate hacked, you might encounter some problems. There are hacks with good stability. I have use hacked GH2 (Ipowell flowmotion hack) exclusively for a series (8 episodes) of broadcast programme. I mean GH2 as A cam not B or C

sorry guys, a little out of topic here but i'm curious - do you guys really see noticeable quality differences from bitrates 42mbps and up? some say it gives more latitude in post, but how much really?

bad news.. m43 rumour just states that gh3 will be delayed in Asia till end dec.. and usually "Asia" would mean places like hk, tw, jp.. sg probably will get 1-2 months later.. little chance we might even get it before cny..
