The original battery is only 1000mAH but the second third party battery included is 2500MAH! That must help to silence those complaining of poor battery life from the original battery.

:)

The 2500MAH 3rd party batt will last only as long as the original one. I have both...

I manage to get a quick look at the comparison pictures between f200 and Panny LX3.

My personal opinion is that the LX 3 still resolves much more details than the f200 at Sn mode @1600. I am not sure if it is just the settings that this guy used.

Thanks for the comparison. Cannot see details unless I look closely... but...

My immediate observation is that on the LX3 image the road is a lot more yellow, whereas on Fuji f200 it is grey. Can you remember which more accurately reflects what your eyes saw?

I didn't see the actual scene so I can't comment on which one produces the colors more accurately. And you are right, there is a stronger yellow hue on the lighting for LX3. Then again, the LX3 seems have cranked up the saturation for all the colors as well.

If viewed at 100%, the extra details of the LX3 is quite obvious. It could be that LX3 shows more details because of the extra 4mpx. I wished that guy has shot a 12mpx version of the same pic with the F200 as well.

The sample pictures for F200 on DPReview shows very nice colors though. I like the colors of the F200 in those samples. And the DR mode really worked in the dpreview photos! Perhaps the DpReview samples are the ones we should look at. They take reasonably nice scenes that I would want to take, not some poorly lit backyard of a laundry shop.

Also, as I mentioned, the F200 definitely has very nice grain pattern as compared to the digital artifacts of LX3.

No need the spare battery lah... Spare battery you can buy from Ebay 3rd party one cheaply (like S$15-S$20 for 2 pcs with shipping) that is similiar to what they will give you.

wow..that's cheap! I hope the stuff don't blow up when I charge them! To play safe, I use only the original and keep the oem as backup. :) but of course, spare battery still more useful than mini tripod, unless your name same as a former HK actor! ;)

Can the Ricoh CX-1 rivals this Fujifilm F200EXR in anyway?

wah! Mis-selling by 250%!

Went to IT show yesterday. F200 original battery is 1300mAh.
Good thing have full manual control. But missing Shutter Priority control.

They probably use a higher capacity due to using for demo.
i have the camera right here with me. The batt is an NP50 3.6V with 1000mAH capacity. The oem spare battery is 3.7V rated 2500mAH.

don't know man. maybe ricoh is popular elsewhere but in singapore they do not have any reputation. their stuff is expensive though, so there must be something justifying the cost. anyway when i was there at their counter yesterday, they just announced the Cx-1 has arrived but I had no interest to look at it. maybe their advertising no good.:)

Test the F200EXR the entire day. I have two NP-50 batteries - one original Fujifilm and one OEM (rated at 2,500mAh). Both lasted for about 160 shots each with (no flash used). The battery life of this camera is short. Buy and bring extra batteries along if you are planning to go on long-haul shooting trips.

well... that's the compromise we have to accept for a bigger 3" LCD ;p and NP-50 is such a small battery, dont think we will see the likes of F30/F31 batteries any more.

a spare battery or two are definitely needed for any outings or trips.

Apologies if this is a noob question but I can't seem to find much on this on Google. I just bought the fuji F200EXR yesterday. After trying it out, I realised that it makes a rather loud clicking sound in EXR mode if I tilt it a little. Is this normal? Just wondering if I need to bring it back to the shop for a swop.

TIA

this is normal.. in EXR mode, the AF focus is set to continuous... if u tilt or move the focus, clicking sounds will be heard as the camera is trying to assess the situation...

yup..its normal on mine too. Not sure why. sounded like the ccd stabilisation.
For EXR mode, its totally idiot proof which is why I bought the pnS in the first place.
So far its performance has been good after the initial few photos. It does take good images under a variety of conditions.
:)

There are disadvantages when using EXR mode. I can only record in both 'S' and 'M' image size. When I use 'HR' setting (which I can use 'L' image size), then I cannot use ISO above 800 and the dynamic range is restricted to 100%. It is either this or that, so to utilize ALL the features in this camera, I use 'P' mode instead.

i am still trying out the camera. so when using the EXR mode, the click click sound is normal? I thought something was wrong with the camera. the sdv additional battery, any idea where (website) to register for the one year free warranty?
