If I want to use this camera to take photo of people moving around on a stage with surrounding dark and only the stage got light shining on the people on stage (disco environment) how should I set the camera and should I use auto EXR ? How should I set this camera so that I don't get blurry image of the people ?

Thanks

To the current owners,

how do you find the battery life? got stamina or not?:)

I own a F100fd, which shares the same batt as F200.

Batt life is pathetic. Average 150 shots (30% flash) before it died. Nowhere near the claimed 230 shots.
With a larger 3' LCD, I don't think F200 will fare any better.

So far so good. Shot about 80+ images with a partially charged battery, and still have 1 bar left on the battery indicator. ;)
The key is to turn off the anti-shake and lower the LCD brightness.

I got a Lx3... So who got the F200... Time to compare...;)

Alan Photo at Sim Lim Square has stock of the F200EXR (including black). They are selling at $470 (including GST) for the full package (i.e. 8GB card, card reader, case, screen protector and mini tripod).

Anyone dealt with this camera shop before are they friendly/helpful or just trying to scam people, im always a bit reluctant to deal with camera shops in bottom level of sim lim.

i add one more thing. try to visualize what you want in the pictures before turning on your camera. LCD one of the main culprit of battery draining.

my 10 cents worth.

being an "ang mo" means i have to go into these shops very cautiously and know my prices and be friendly but firm. I once got yelled at by a guy in a Funan camera shop because i wouldn't buy at his inflated price.

Hello... Need your advice..

I was thinking which camera to camera to get. New Fuji F200EXR or used Nikon D40. Actually I just sold my F100 yesterday to get F200 but when I saw a used Nikon D40 is around the same price, I was so tempted. Now I'm stuck between the 2.

One is the lowest end of all DSLR, one is the king of premium PnS.

I sold my F100 cos I outgrew it. So I thought of F200 as it has more functions to let me play for a longer time. Then again, experts always say even the lowest end of DSLR can beat a highest end PnS.

How?.... Can give me some advice?

Go for a Canon G10 or Panasonic LX-3 instead. I am very sure you will outgrow the F200EXR very, very soon. Otherwise, buy an used Nikon D50. This camera is much better than the D40 in every way.

i beg to differ a little.

it depends on how and why almondaddict need a camera. if it's for casual shooting and not expanding further in photography, i think F200 is good enough. most important is he/she needs to understand the differences btw pns and dslr. one main difference btw them is the flexibilities of expansion.

if he/she's going for dslr, i'll be on kopi's side, get D50 at least.
