PnS camera, you all still want to shoot raw? shoot jpg cause it saves you time and your computer lifespan. and time is money, once you loose it, it's gone.:bsmilie:

well...it would be nice if pns can produce raw output. whether you process raw or not, your computer lifespan still progresses at the same rate. and if you let the computer do the work, then not much time spent on your part. :bsmilie:

I tested the F200EXR at MS Color this afternoon. All I can say is . The colors look very close to the S5 Pro. Its dynamic range is superb (as good as S5 Pro's). In fact, this camera performs like a mini-S5 Pro (Mini-Me in Austin Powers). Focusing is fast. The face-recognition feature works well (not always though). At ISO 12,800, the noise is quite prominent. However at ISO 800 and below, images comes out very clean. Fujifilm had decided to use back the rotary dial selector here, unlike the F100fd (I don't like its button selectors).

My only nickpick is the histogram feature is absent in this model. The F100fd can display histogram.

All it all, S$460 is a steal for such an advanced camera. Time to Buy, Buy, Buy.

now where's my wallet

cheers

Consider the dynamic range of this new camera is quite good, there are some give and take lah. ;)
Don't get me wrong, if I don't have a F30/F31D, at this price it is good to get F200EXR if you like it for it's low light capabilities plus DR.

But I won't go change my F30/F31D for it, since improvement is not by leaps and bounds but incremental only, that's my viewpoint.

Still it is a tempting price... if my F30 happens to die suddenly, that's a different matter. :bsmilie:

bro,
harddisk die faster if always churning RAW stuffs. jpgs not so heavy.

anyway i usually try to perfect my images before post-processing so that i do minimum or no PP.

I think I prefer to view the camera in suntec this weekend first.:)

definately. i'd encourage all to at least try out the camera first. you list down after the IT show this weekend.;)

John3:16 also selling about 470. and he got stocks for black. DUNO how many though haha...

Cheers guys!

I played with it at John 3:16 yesterday. The intelligent flash is quite cool. The subject (sales guy) was lighted correctly while ambient lighting can still be seen on the shelfing (yellow spot lights). However, the Panasonic LX3 seems sharper and has a better auto white balance, but it is also possible that the LX3 just has a better screen.

Film mode is crap. Film still looks much better. Its probably just a saturation and contrast adjustment. I didn't try portrait mode though.

I know comparing the Fujifilm F200EXR and Ricoh GR Digital is like comparing apples to oranges, but here is the 28mm lens distortion test for both cameras. Keep in mind that the GRD is a fixed focal length lens (at 28mm), and is known for its excellent lens distortion control at 28mm.

Also when new, the Ricoh GRD costs 2.4 times more than the F200EXR (S$1,100 vs S$479).

More tests to come. This time I will compare the F200EXR with Fujifilm S5 Pro with Carl Zeiss Makro-Planar 50/2 ZF lens (S$479 vs S$3,000 setup). Stay tuned.

How about comparing picture taken by F200 and F31?? thanks.

No fight lah....

Er................ F31 or F200? Confused leh!!??

I think F31 is a classic though i was unable to get 1. If F200 is better, see if F31's price would drop to $200 and below.... I may consider getting 1.
