Yeah... purple fringing on happens only legacy wide angle lenses... haha... A mount, E mounts all dun haf purple fringing...
The 16mm f/2.8 e-mount damn sure does have magenta casting on the NEX-7. It's every bit as noticeable as with the CV 15mm.

Bro albertri, you might wanna read some of what Erwin Puts wrote about Leica wide primes. He seems to be less than enthusiastic about some of them, especially the 35/2 and the 35/1.4. He also notes that the optics in the 24mm f/2.8 are Minolta's design.
There's a wealth of information, reviews, and commentary available on R lenses. Using those resources can help one to make good choices when buying R stuff, and it also enlightens as to why R glass prices are so divergent--some very cheap and some expensive.
Gonna go DL that firmware . . . disabling that damned video button will greatly improve the NEX-7's ergonomics, especially for one-handed bug hunting!![]()

bro is it PF or pruple haze? coz PF sure is with most fast primes specially wide open even the new PL 25mm f1.4 has one of the owrst PF I've seen on new lensesbut love the colors and smooth out of focus rendering of this lens.
Bro, trying to get some folks to understand the difference between purple fringing and magenta cast is like talking to a wall. ;p
The flange distance is still relatively short compared to SLR lenses, E-mount or any adapted rangefinder lens should have similar issues.Bro. I dun c it when I used d 16mm leh. Maybe in some specific circumstances I haven't try before.
After DL'ing the new firmware, I used the menu option to switch off the MOVIE button, hoping the firmware update would completely disable the MOVIE button, as in press button, nothing happens.
However, pressing the MOVIE button now generates a sound, along with a screen message, "Cannot shoot movies with the current settings..."
Oh, well . . . I guess any improvement helps, but it means that button still f**ks the camera's ergonomics.
can buy small soft shutter button and paste it over the record button?
I've seen a couple of makeshift solutions posted on the internet, but I ain't gonna perform any kind of mutilation that might void the warranty. Even though the firmware update didn't do what I'd hoped for, it'll still be an improvement. I may lose a shot or two this way, but at least it won't tie up the camera for an additional eight or ten seconds the way it did previously.

The firmware change log didn't mention anything about iso or af. So guess there's no change on those
