New camera: K-x is coming!

My Japanese client who is a long time Pentax user told me the K-x launch is making everybody sit up and take notice... while coloured bodies is nothing new, no camera company has offered anything at this scale, so the many colour options will be a milestone for Pentax.

I want some for my specific shooting task...
No. 063 orange/red for sunset/sunrise, 045 full green for nature/macro,
032 Magenta/grey for food, 084 purple/red for fashion & models,
Korejanai Robo for kids...... oh no! I guess I need at least 20 of them!

I think they will have a unique winner if the grip features snap on covers like the older Nokia phones....that will really capture the ladies market because they can change colours at will to match their shoes, bags, hair , etc..

May I know how can one order their favourite color. Normally manufacturer always show multicolor but online stores and shop only hold black. :think:

I believe you need to order your prefered color online, as some countries may launch only the 3 main colors (black, red, white)

Where can you find a camera with full HD video capability (24 fps) for the price?
Putting aside the choice of colour issue, the specifications for this small camera is very good.

Here are my thoughts on the Pentax K-x and Pentax K-xC (request to Pentax by Hin)

I hope Pentax can make the color selection an international and global choice without boundaries. It is a difficult logistics for Pentax but it can attract enthusiasts with no physical and geological boundaries. If they go this far to tempt us with colors, please tempt us on an equal basis.

PS: some punt intended in my blog post enjoy it while we can before RH take a stab on reporting RED HOT issues and problems with color. Congratulation to all of us Pentaxians who stay put in Pentax.

Pentaxian would be pentaxian, they may hold another system but I think deep in their hearts they are still pentaxian, in color or not. thnk there's somekinda magic in becoming pentaxian... welcome for those who wanna come in and good luck for those wh don't wanna.

Features wise, it's really more than good enuff for me, esp the 12MP CMOS. I just wish they could remove that "trashy" silver lining and perhaps bump up the built quality - it's just too plastic looking for me. Just my opinion though I know I, myself, may not be part of the targetted market. Ha.

I'm just waiting for samples and reviews of the HD video to be out before I get it. Good complement for my K20D.

But will it be good enough for me to replace my beloved k100D Super? Only time will tell......

EDIT: I suspect the old AF issues in low-light will still be there. Wonder if there is a grip for this.

i believe you need to order as well,

then they can customise. 100 combis would be ridiculous to make. prolly the 3 standard models will be on sale at shops.

i will be headed to japan end-year, will check how to do it...

and revert here. never been a pentax user, but potential for a second system!
