Man, superflous or not, 50 mm f/1.0 would be damn sexy. I won't believe that till I see it.
Try Olympus.. It's a stop faster too.

yep you've got a point... maybe Nikon wants to do lots to maintain the lead (?) they've managed to garner recently due to D3, D300 and D700
let's hope all the above come true!
(but then there will big hole in pocket and lots of pacifying gf or wife :bsmilie
don't know leh... it's like this year they suddenly wake up and cheong all the way... never see them doing that in the past.... they got a new boss/sales/marketing manager.... :dunno:... the other camps who happily lim kopi and relac one corner suddenly found themselve hit by tsunami.... :devil:

I remember seeing a canon 50mm f/0.95 or something. Crazy dream lens.. Bokeh everywhere.
Don't say so early, or be too happy.:nono: The suspected lenses haven't come yet. But it reminds me of Nikon D3, D300 and 14-24 f2.8 getting Best Camera and lens awards by TIPA & EISA.

I believe these few years they have been doing R&D on their FX camera and new range of lens that can perform in FX camera. They are making sure everything works before release to market.
If they do lauch those "rumored" heavenly holy trinity of trinity lenses this year.... the competitor will not only hit by tsunami, but cat 10 hurricane + level 10 earthquake + volcano eruption.... :devil:
Even if the competitor is hit by so many disasters, it will still survive. ;p
A replacement for 80-400 is what I hope for.

Can I add a AFS 50mm f1.2G and a 40 million nikkor lens special edition AFS 50mm f1?BTW there is already a nikon 28mm f1.4 which has been discontinued because of the astronomical price:http://www.kenrockwell.com/nikon/2814af.htm

i think if a f1.2 or f1 AFS 50mm comes out... many will want it too!

Right now D40 users who want a prime lens cant use the current nikkors (the bodies only autofocus with AFS lenses). They have to buy the sigma. Launching a SWM G type version would solve this. And i'm sure lots of people wouldnt mind upgrading for this especially if they updated the optical formula
