Kamen Rider 1 (the above figure) is the very first Kamen Rider in existence modeled upon a Grasshopper. One of the most recognizable and iconic characters in Japanese entertainment, Kamen Rider 1 is as irrecoverably burnt onto the cultural subconscious as the series itself.

In the system-specific allotment if duties, each member of the crew is dependent on the other for all to survive a tank duel together. During operations, the crew lives in and with the tank, not only during combat, but also before and after. Crew accommodations amounted to five personnel made up of the commander, loader, gunner, driver and bow-machine gunner/radio operator.

"Even the Germans admired the simple, robust T34 tank. Our model is upgunned with the 85mm tank gun. In addition, it has been “field-adapted” with old iron bedframes to act as anti-panzerfaust screens. Two Russian crew figures fill out the set."

This T-34/85 tank is unique as it come with a make-shift Bedspring Armor welded to on the hull and turret at the crucial parts of the tank sides. Suffering heavy losses in urban fighting in German cities, Soviet tank crews had to figure out solutions to protect themselves from the one-man operated Panzerfaust.


This improvised "armor" is meant to cause the Panzerfaust shaped charge to bounce off or detonate before it hit the armor plate. This would reduce armor damage caused by the high-velocity metal jet streams of the Panzerfaust - protecting the crews inside. This method is still in used in modern tanks and vehicles for protection against sharp charge warheads in urban combat.

The T-34/85 is essentially, an "upgunned" T-34-76. The T-34/85 gave the Red Army a tank with better armour and mobility than the German Panzer IV tank and StuG III assault gun. While it could not match the armor or weapons of the heavier Panther and Tiger tanks, its improved firepower made it much more effective than the earlier T34/76 models (using the 76mm F-34 gun).

The Russians tank crews of WW2 wore a distinctive helmet in the form of an aviator-style cotton duck cloth helmet with several padded bumpers. Originally these helmets had no provision for headphones since the first generations of Soviet tanks had no radios or intercoms.

The T-34/85 was the first Soviet tank with radio and intercom as standard equipment. Later a new version of this cloth helmet was introduced with integrated headsets.

This T-34/85 model has a painted horizontal a white line on the turret. Still believing the Soviets would run into U.S. or British units along the way to Berlin in the May of 1945, it was agreed Soviet tanks should be painted with a white stripe around the turret (and a white cross on the top) - to differentiate their tanks and armored vehicles from the Western Allies who were also closing in onto Germany from the West.

Production of the T-34/85 tank began in February 1944, first using the 85 mm S-53 gun and then in mid-1944 the 85 mm ZiS-S-53. The improved T-34/85 became the standard Soviet medium tank, with an uninterrupted production run until the end of the war in 1945.









The 85mm gun had a very long barrel and without a muzzle brake, the recoil required a very large turret. This roomier design also had the advantage of being roomy enough for three crewmen, the commander being freed from having to load the gun. This in turn helped him concentrate on possible targets and generally to have better awareness of the battlefield.

It is estimated that the total number of Soviet military casualties/dead is 8.7 million - however we would never know the exact figure. Some historians put the figure as 11 million - these statistics varying at great extent largely because of poor field records and reports kept during the time.
