Beef noodle soup.
Similar to Vietnamese style, but the noodle texture is slightly more chewy.

Red Curry chicken.
Thai-influenced. Do have a little local flavor (salty that is), spiciness is mild.

Green Curry Chicken
Definitely Thai-influenced. Exact same taste to those you can find in Singapore.

Thin rice noodle. Similar to rice noodle in Vietnam, but thinner. Texture is similar to our meehoon, but a tad more chewy.
Soup is good, and the tomato is super fresh!

Laotian are pretty healthy people.
They eat a lot of vegetables, as sides.
Like this plate of vegetables (or leaves... whatever you name it), is actually a complementary serving to the noodles. :o

Great composition :)
Need to learn more from your shots.

I am so glad to have seen your thread about food photography.

Now i know the better angles and the ideal ISO to take these good looking yummy photos.

I have a question though. If the place is low-light, and crowded with people so you have no other tables to move to, and the use of flash is not ideal as it will catch people's attention. How will u overcome this?

Thanks.

Hmm place the camera on the table or something stable to minimise camera shake. and then use handphone light to boost the lighting? haha thats all i can think of now.

Thanks. We are all learning isn't it?

Normally, it means you should sit back relax and enjoy your meal instead :)
Or as louis23 mentioned, it did help although it limits your composition.
Don't push too hard, photography is to enjoy ;)

Ma Maison has always been my favourite, especially the Bugis Junction branch.
Other than the food really suits my taste bud, the reason which makes me keep going back to this place, is because -- I simply can't get my shots right!!!

It's just plain weird, I can never make their food looks as good as they were.
Looking at this week's result, seems like I'll have to make another trip down again... ;p

Curry Chicken Rice.
Curry was tasty (as good as curry flavor), but I don't like the chicken.
Curry still go best with katsu eh?

(I was surprised that they have removed that special katsudon set with premium salt rock from their menu )

the escargots shots are making me feel like going out for supper!

After reading lotsa good reviews on this restaurant, I have always wanted to give it a go.
As I was aware of the long waiting time, pre-order was made a day earlier. Still, we have waited 1 hour for the food to be served. Anyway, it's worth the wait. ;p

Roasted barley tea was served during the wait.

The Must Have! Chako set, served with Saba Shioyaki (Grilled Mackerel), chicken katsu, fish cutlet, salad, cold tofu and miso soup.
The Saba is totally awesome! and not fishy at all!
