My Choice of a m4/3 Body

Don't wanna start a new thread cos I don't see a point in one.

Just wanna seek advice from the seniors here - is it a good time to buy the EP3? I am still a newbie and couldn't justify buying the OMD EM5. I am looking at getting a brand new set from a shop, but not sure if the price will drop when EM5 comes out?

Just wait a little while more......can't imagine the EP3 selling for more than $900 with std zoom lens once the OMD starts selling so in BnS should drop closer to $700 ......

now i'm using EP-L1, looking for upgrade either to EP or EP-L2, but for sure will go to EP-3 when the "price" is right for me, since it already has everything (auto rotate, bigger screen, higher pixel,internal flash, i believe also better IQ&DR)

Just got myself an EP3 with kit lens, silver in color. Build sure feels good in my hands. Just wondering, since the USB door is made of plastic material, will it break or bend if i exert too much force?

Maybe not. Maybe by time the E-M5 reaches our shores, many people would have grown tired of waiting. If they had launched around now, perhaps. But 1 more month? .... I think everything will be cold and hard by then.

i dunno abt u guyz, but it's good tat my wife thinks tat the bigger the dslr, the higher the cost.
so pen series r 'cheap' compare to dslr...lol...she knows nuts abt lenses....14-54 mk II looks the same as pana 14-42 kit lenses after a while...lol

Haha. I can believe tat. Thats why many people think that if you carry a dslr, u ate more pro bec u hv an expensive camera - which in a way is true bec most pple would balk at spending more than 1.5 k on a camera system.

Within a DSLR system, the bigger = more expensive theory is often true. Examples are 1DX > 5D3 > 7D > 60D > 600D > 1100D, D4 > D800 > D300S > D7000 > D5100 > D3100. However, a smaller camera from a different system cannot be compared (e.g. Leica M9).

Yup. I have friends who thinks I am crazy spending $2000+ on my Canon gear (which in fact can only buy you one body and one good lens).

Agreed!! ****.... That Olympus camera "should" be VERY poisonous, even now... To me personally, it ups the game for all others..

Even with someone who has a gh2, the OMD sounds poisonous!! Will go molest this at the IT show. Also wait for the reviews on raw perf.

I wonder what's the tentative launch price... But I won't be an early adopter due to the probable insane high price... Seems like body only is USD$999? Singapore retailers might just jack it up to USD$1199 I think.. Haha!

Olympus will announce a Singapore MSRP, which the retailers will follow closely in the first couple of months after launch. Early adopters will have to pay the "early adopter tax" which is basically the difference between MSRP and "street price". Then again, manufacturers often throw in freebies to soften the blow.
