limited only by your imagination it doesn't leave marks after removal so a lot of people use it to protect their equipment. eg, wrap the camera or tripod legs to protect from scratches, wear and tear, etc. nice to taping things together too.

depends on you i guess. scratches are even uglier and you lose value for your cam if you ever choose to sell it. and since my cameras are black, you don't really notice the gaffers unless you look closely and it really helps for tripods. better grip also.
you're welcome to take some gaffer from me to try when i get it.

Hullo... When u all gaffer tripod legs, you mean the different sections of the legs? Would it still be possible to extend and retract the legs without feeling 'tight'?

kiwi2 - i dunno abt the rest. but, i think its kinda difficult to gaffer the tripod legs. the moment u retract them, if u can, the tape will be torn loose. wat u can gaffer is the tripod head - the base, the handles and knobs. dats wat i do anyway.

wudabao - ugly it may be... but a scratch on ur cam is even uglier.

I believe you can gaffer the outmost section only. Anyway, this is the section need most protection. When fully extended, you won't move your tripod around, and the chance to get scratched is pretty low, isn't it?
