MOURINHO: WE WERE IN CONTROL AT ANFIELD

Manchester United manager Jose Mourinho seemed pleased after his side's goalless draw against Liverpool in the Premier League on Monday night. Below are the key points from his first post-match interview...

WE CONTROLLED THE GAME
"I think it was a very difficult game for us and for them, but I think it was more difficult for them than for us. We kept control of the game for long periods. In the second half David had two great saves that were isolated from the context. But the game was completely under control, not just from a tactical point of view but also an emotional point of view. We influenced the atmosphere in the stadium."

ONE BIG CHANCE
"We had a big chance where I thought Zlatan was going to score; if you score that goal, it’s 1-0, goodbye, finished. But I think we missed a little bit of sharpness through the middle. I was expecting more penetration and I was thinking about playing Rashford in the position behind Zlatan but he had cramp and I made a change. At that moment I thought it would be difficult to win now, so let’s not lose it."

HAPPY NOT TO HAVE ALL THE BALL
"That was the game we planned. We didn’t want to control the game by having the ball all the time. We know that they want to press our first phase and we know that the transition when they lose the ball is really strong and high. We knew it would be very difficult for them to score a goal; what we always thought was that we would score a goal to win the match, which we tried."

NOT THE LAST WONDER OF THE WORLD
"We tried to start really strong in both halves, but they are a good team. They are not the last wonder of the world like you [the media] say they are, but they are a very good team, so we needed to adapt to that."

The above quotes are from Mourinho's interview with Sky Sports.

7 changes in the lineup ... Ibra on the bench for the 1st time but we won 4-1 ... 2 goals from outside the box and two 2 min apart goals from the spot spoil RVP (also almost score from outside the box) return but great to see him scoring in OT again ... he must be drooling to come back after last night lol ...

We need more goals from open play ...

Up next travelling to Stamford Bridge ...

With 3 teams sharing 20pts at the top, tonight's match against Chelsea, it's ManUtd chance to catch up.
As a fan, I don't care how they win it. Just get the 3pts.

Disastrous start concede in the first 30secs now trailing by 2 goals as of now!

Win would close the gap to 3pts but now ...

We are going down the road as Liverpool at 90s

We are going down the road as Liverpool at 90s
That is possibility. This what I see,

1. David Moyes dismantling a winning backroom staff.
2. Van Gaal changing the style of play ie, endless passing, too much possession play, no creative attacking until our strikers poaching instincts go south.
3. Mourinho idea of buying success.

While I don't want to live in the past, our current situation is dire. 9 games is enough for me to press the panic button because I don't see any pattern that we are improving.

This inability to catch up might cost us the Champions League slot at the end of 38 games.

Chelsea - 4 Man Utd - 0

Guess, it's not to be.
Damn, why are they struggling so bad?

If i remember correctly for this season we fail to win when we concede first ... is it mindset of players/coach? lack of desire/hunger to win? hmm...

Cant even beat the shite out of Burnley , what a shame

Time to rest Ibra ... the no of goals he miss is obscene ...

Again conceded early goal again we have tons of possession again the no of shots and shots on target is miserably pathetic ... considering our strike force
