M mount module from Ricoh...

no luck getting this done. the 1st one on the shooting list , when I get into RAW settings. It brings me to ratio and RAW/JPEG settings (either fine, normal, VGA). RAW + JPEG comes together. Not able to "kick" away the + jpeg when shot in RAW.

No such option exist I'm afraid. Anyhow, the jpeg files are like 3.5MB vs the 13MB max DNG files. I don't you'd lose much if you just put a 8GB SD card into the GXR.

ok. noted, thanks learning something new each day from this little black gem.
btw, the handling of GXR is so good. It is like more a squarish than rectangular shape, remind me on E1, where most of the weight sits on the right.

That it is. It is by far the most comfortable compact I have ever handled. :D

And Oh. You can set the quality of the jpegs recorded. If you are really worried about space, just select VGA or something.

less worried about the space, but rather the extra time that wasted on savings and trouble to copy unnecessary files from SD to HDD. has to delete each time after each copy.

Ricoh does not manufacture sensor. read somewhere that M Module is using the same sensor as X100 ? Is that true ?

Thom Hogan review the Ricoh GXR and said it was a Sony sensor. Granted the Nikon D300 also used a 12.3 MP sensor, so I would imagine the Ricoh APS-C modules use that sensor as well.

Both A12 50mm and 28mm are using Sony. I am doubt about M module.
So far has anyone tested how good/bad is the moire effect ?

The M Mount module is a 12.3MP sensor. The only difference is the lenslet array, and maybe the underlying electronics.

i see. understood. sorry for many questions, swift from 4/3 to here...wish to know after I spent $1K+ , what I am getting actually.

Just got my EXR.. I was trying hard on how to half press the shutter and it will automatic zoom in to the picture for mi to focus. Right now I need to manual select the zoom in function. Anyone can help on this?

Pres the menu button for more than a second to bring up the zoom window. Press it a second time for it to fill the whole screen. I prefer the latter because it is easier to see.

very nice pix lx3chua, had chance to try out the camera and its surprisingly good

Putting the CV 15/4.5 on the GXR can yield incredible results. Stopped down to f8-11, everything is in focus (even at f4.5, most things are).

Some stuff I took today. Straight from the camera jpegs.
