M mount module from Ricoh...

I'm wondering if the mount is already available in S'pore for sales...

last that I heard, Nov release in SG.

Is available in Spore now. Saw some at SLR and TK.

has the picture IQ improved or remain the same as A12 50mm/28mm ? Hope there is improvement made on high ISO.

The same sensor. So no difference.

Heard from Ricoh singapore that the RRP will be $1099 exclusive of GST. Should be around 900-950 Range Street Price...

Peaking mode is rather intuitive, once you understand it.. I like the Mode 2 better :). Focusing Stopped down is tricky. I think you are better off using SLR technique- focus, compose, stop down(if needed).

This works better than the M43 for 'M's. But keep in mind that NEX 7 may be the game changer for all legacy lenses...

The only problem with that method is that it doesn't altogether account for focus shift.

Yes, thats the trade off.. but this will work for most wide angle lenses

is always a pleasure to see how much one can learn from a constructive discussion. especially the one that is learning is me :)

was planning to get a M-mount with some voigtlaender lens but didn't think much about the focus shifting issue, if not for u guys i guess i would probably be wondering what is the cause of occasional lack in sharpness..

Is actually quite hard to nail it by observation (at least by myself) given it would only be most pronounce when shooting at longer focal length and focusing at minimum distance (where the depth of field is narrowest) and would probably be less of an issue when using wider anger and / or focusing for something further away... i guess it would loss its effect at infinity ??

so ... thanks guys (Gangru and NazgulKing) and please keep it going!

me new to this group. officially M mount owner today, but yet to have any lens.
1st venture to RF lens, reading the thread and trying to pick up knowledge here.

Check out the beast I'm selling then. The voigtlander 35mm 1.2 v1. Big old light sucker :p

It is applicable for some lenses, like the Carl Zeiss ZM Sonnar 50/1.5. However, given how much light that lens sucks in, I'd probably focus it at f2.8 or f1.5 depending on the situation. The lens behaves differently for <2.8 and >2.8.

A good lens to start with would be the voigtlander nokton mc 35/1.4... relatively compact and light and with 1.5x crop on the gxr, its equivalent to ~52mm, which is a decent walkaround focal distance. Have fun... the path ahead, like they often phrased it, is a slippery slope! :)

Thanks for the advice. Seriously considering.

I came from SLR and m4/3, the effective range of my style that I am used to, is 26mm~28mm and 40mm. Considering also 28mm f2 (42mm effective range) but realise that the focal distance is 0.7m. this would make me step back half a meter and the subject get smaller. Not sure I am correct here.

its already on sale in SG. the sensor is exactly the same as those used in Fuji X100.

I think this is just great for ultra wide angles e.g. Voigtlander 12mm Heliar.

Really small setup for your landscapes!!
