M mount module from Ricoh...

15mm is great on the module.. quite sharp for a m lens on digital. Ricoh has done a very good job on the sensor

Very nice rig in that pix. Is that yours?

That's the original filter adapter for the 12mm. I used that for my square filters. No Vignetting from the filter holder which is good.

Beginning to really enjoy the setup -

ISO 800, f8, 1/5s, handheld, Noise Reduction off. Unedited JPEG straight from camera.

Another test shot from my study's window.

ISO-Lo, f8, 8s, tripod, noise reduction off. Took away the top (useless black sky) in a 20:9 crop, wideness maintained. Apart from the cropping, JPEG straight from the camera.

The center resolution is good, edge does get a little smudgy. Ain't pro, doesn't really matter to me. Can always try to sharpen it after that.

Shutter delay? Is it noticeable?

My 50mm f2.5 has a significant shutter delay (to me). IS the shutter delay approximately the same with the M-module?

Its comparable if not slightly better, personally does not bother me as much.

On a separate but related note, ricoh needs to address the write times in their cameras.

How do you stop it from capturing both raw and jpeg? What if you just want raw? I think that may contribute to the slow writing speed?

Picked up the Ricoh GXR today. Focusing is actually quite a breeze. I am liking the image quality, and I really dig the camera. I still need time to get a hang of it, especially when taking pictures of action.

Go to the settings and select either jpeg or raw. Shooting in raw by default produces jpeg + dng.

new to GXR and M Module. Is the latest firmware for both body and camera is v1.40 ?

CZ 25 f2.8! The "35mm" equivalent in a GXR mount! A lens that I'll love to have.

Another test image with the Heliar 12mm, this time with square filters for the long exposures. Edited using the Black and White presets in LR3, and added borders in Photoshop.

I already like the sharpness straight from the camera.

It;'s under shooting. Ought to be the first one on the list.

does C-Sonnar 50/1.5 lens need an adapter for the M mount or it can be mounted directly?

no luck getting this done. the 1st one on the shooting list , when I get into RAW settings. It brings me to ratio and RAW/JPEG settings (either fine, normal, VGA). RAW + JPEG comes together. Not able to "kick" away the + jpeg when shot in RAW.

That's what I was querying as well. I think the JPEG output is really good from Ricoh, so I ain't complaining. But I am just checking if there's anyway for us to save sometime when shooting a longer exposure. E.g. If I take 60s to take 1 shot, I will have to wait an equivalent amount of time to see the output on screen.

I think with NR off, and if it doesn't capture JPEG by default, it may just be more instantaneous for my next shot. I think.
