Comex, you mean? Actually there isn't a point to launch in Comex right? As we all understand, Comex/PC shows are fairs to sell cameras and throwing tonnes of freebies, and people go in for the kill just to get those additional freebies.

If you're launching a product in masstige category, would you want to lose the brand equity of the product by launching in a leh long sale immediately?

zan, agree with what you said. Probably why they are holding the launch date to after the Comex when they could do it earlier.

I think the LX5 is out. Today Chinese paper did show the spec. But my chinese sucks so dont know what it write. Those who know chinese can read today chinese paper

Just called ms color to check if they have stock. I think they fed up with people asking. So they told me the stock will come on end sept. Guess I won't be getting from them bah.

Nope, the chinese paper quotes Sep release, which is consistent with all the information that has been spreading around so far

Hmm... For those who are holding to LX3 already, I think changing to LX5 somehow seemed unwise... Specs and all quite similar isn't it?

Actually it's different:

1. New improved CCD
2. New lens design
3. New Venus engine

Then again, no matter how they redesign, it still can't beat the IQ of micro 4/3s or DSLRs. I'd probably say its a real upgrade over the older model, but keep the expectations checked?
