i am using 3rd party 52mm adaptor that protrudes out, no vignetting observed...

I tried, but I couldn't get the vignetting on my 3rd party 52mm adapter as well :dunno:

...btw, is there any adaptor that does not protrude? pls let me know the link or where to get, will be good in saving up space :)

I believe it must protrude out at least a little, otherwise how the lens zoom out?

are you saying you are trying to get vignetting effect? getting it in post-processing is more controllable.

yes yes, at least a little, unless using one of those windows-like design (dunno what they call it), where auto open by lens when zoom out (but in that design guess can no longer attach any filter )

I'm saying (to all those who doubt the 3rd-party 52mm adapters), "Dun worry". Unless u add on another lens hood, then u will really need extremely slim filters.

Another example is the Sony PnS (T-series) cameras with real optical zoom but no protruding lens using their prism/periscope lens element arrangement; but no guarantees abt optical quality.

Ok thanks bro! So the brand of the cam-bag is called i-cube? Roughly how much does it costs? Is it still available at Carrefour?

Gosh...:o so Sorry aaron80, 'i-cube':nono:was the brand of my lovable DIY-Desktop-PC(just sold liao...maybe miss-it lahhh...:bsmilie:that's why:embrass:) the CORRECT BRAND is "i-case";)

newbie here. any aidea where can i get that bokeh and fisheye lens? like locally? and is the external viewfinder too? :D

Hey what bag/pouch u guys use to carry your LX3 around? I bought the 46mm original adapter (DMW-LA4) and is thinking of putting it on permanently with a filter to protect the lens. But it protrudes out quite abit after putting on the adapter. Is there any small pouch you guys can recommend that can accomodate this setup? I dunwan a big bag, prefers a smal pouch which I can carry around easily.

Does anyone here also put the adapter and filter permanently on the camera?

Well, hope you'll like this;)(as shown below with links:))

Btw, if only I remembered the price correctly it'd about $9.90 to $11.90 not more than $12 and is All-round-very-well-padded, a front-zipper-pouch for my Cir-Pol and 2-Extra-Batts and 1-standby-SD and with carrying-strap Plus Belt-Slot behind it, just hopefully they're still selling as I've not been there for quite a while liao(imagine since S2-IS till now:sweat:)

Hmm I just bought a LX3.
I know the zoom is short so is there any way to increase zoooming?

Or is there no other way but to get a zoom lens?

Although the zoom is short but it's sufficient for my needs. Anyway u should already know of it's limited zoom when u bought it right? Maybe u can try to look for some telecoverters which can increase the distance or use digital zoom to increase the range.

And fyi, LX3 is not a DSLR, it's lens is fixed one so there's no way you can change to a longer zoom lens.

Ya I know of its limited zoom. I wonder if can increase or not only.
But its okay if it is quite impossible. (:

& I never take out my battery unless I charged it.
I don't want my battery cover to become loose.
Also, since I just bought it, I've been playing with it everyday. Hehe.

I realised that when taking photo at night example at chinatown there is nice lightings for zhong jiu jie the lcd will show purple lines, but when you review it these purple lines will not be shown. And if you take video on these lightings you will see it too, and if you review it the purple lines appear too  Is this normal for all camera or only lx3 or only my set? :dunno:

Nope, it's not. But since I've not been there for sometimes liao so I can only based on my 'past-memory' of around that area/surrounding:). It's somewhere where there's this SonyEriccson handphone corners(which/that was afew years back then...), bro now you know where or.....:dunno:or the handphone-corners no longer there liao:think:

Well, let me know then;)

Oh for me I'd just leave it inside if I can:think:predict that I'll most likely be using it say...for this couple of days, if not, then I'll remove the batt;)

Ok. So do you store your LX3 in a dry cabinet as well? As you own a DSLR as well, I assume you have a dry cabinet. I used to have a dry cabinet when I owned a DSLR but sold everything off liao. Am thinking of getting just a normal dry box to store my LX3.

Just got an LX3 over the Hari Raya weekend! :)

Tried searching for answers to my question below, but after sifting through many many pages, still couldn't find the answer I was looking for  ... Very sad
I wish to be able to set the 2sec timer and shoot a number of shots with it. However, after each shot, the camera reverts to normal single-shot mode. Is there any way to 'lock' the setting on 2sec timer until I no longer want to use it?

For me, I put my LX3 in the dry cabinet with my DSLR since it is the only place I organize all my camera stuff. :)

Yup, I store all-camera-related-stuffs/items in my Dry-Cabi;)

Ok just my opinion that getting a small 36L Dry-cabi seems to be a more convenient(no silica-gel to deal with mah...:))

But the final decision is yours, choose wisely yah...
